I purchased 4 of these Whitmor shoe racks, mainly because they are low profile and appear to be similar in design to a shoe rack I have had for decades. Unfortunately the Whitmor shoe rack is not made to stand the test of time. Within just a few months of use, the metal started to bend and the small plastic "plugs" that help hold the rack into slots on the frame started popping out or breaking. The frame is wobbly and often collapses with the weight of shoes. Only light weight shoes can be held; tennis shoes cause the entire row to tip backwards against the shoes in the next row. I would be surprised if this would hold men's shoes. If you intend to just use this rack occasionally for light weight sandles, it may be "ok", but if you intend to use it daily, you may be disappointed like me. It makes my closet look sloppy since it is all wobbly and shoes tipping backward. I will be purchasing something with a sturdier design to replace these.
