Whynter - 500 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner and Heater - Platinum/Black

this is our second Whynter air conditioner. Both work great and cool very large rooms without any problem. The one we just bought was set up in 15 minutes and was cooling right away. the hose system is perfect for older houses where a window unit would not work. This unit does not put any strain on my wooden window frames. A great product overall

We've only been using this a few days and already love it. I wouldn't expect less based on our previous experience with a 14SH. It cools quickly and effectively, as one would expect from a good dual hose AC unit. It's pretty heavy, but the wheels make it easy to move between rooms. Just don't expect to be moving it between floors very much.

The only problem I had during installation was that the "Quick Start" guide says to install the hose connectors by turning them "Clockwise". That does not work. The full manual says to attach them by turning "Counter-Clockwise", which is correct. Other than that, it was easier than I thought. I bought this for my garage that was turned into a music studio for my wife's and my bands to practice and record in. I had my central air extended to the garage, but it never cooled the room during Sacramento's 100 degree summer days. I held my first band rehearsal yesterday, when it was 99 F outside, and it kept the 20 x 30 foot room comfortably cool. Everyone was impressed. With climate change causing more, and hotter days, this will make our musical lives much better.

I got this puppy a few months ago and its great. It's a cooling machine! And it's so quiet. My other portable AC was so loud I wanted to smash it. This baby is quiet and let's you enjoy the cool air and sleep in peace. My dogs also enjoy how fast it cools and how quiet it is. Oh and not one leak or strange noise lol.The only reason zi give it 4 stars and not 5 is that it was a bit pricey for me.
