nice looking bookcase, a little difficult to put together (screws not great quality making the allen wrench tuff to use after a few turns and one hole not pre-drilled) but overall good product for the money.

This review is for the 3-shelf version. I would have bought the Mission folding bookcase from Target, but they've gone OUT OF THEIR MIND on price for that thing. This was a cheaper alternative. Contrary to some reviews, the 3 shelf version IS NOT already assembled. It's partially assembled (the hinges are already put on), but you still have to put it together. You'll need a Philips head screwdriver and the included Allen wrench. Assembly takes maybe 15 minutes. Once assembled, the shelf is satisfactorily sturdy. The finish is a little on the cheap side, but you pay for what you get. As a shelf to go beside my fridge for phone books and the like, it's more than adequate.

I was going to order this type of bookcase from another store but it was a lot more expensive. I debated on what one to get but I decided to get the cheaper one. I LOVE IT. It looks just as nice as the other one and it is even a little bigger. It looks wonderful and I am glad I ordered it.

Since you have to build yourself, I recommend having a strong person (male) present to help. I'm a single female and was not able to put it together by myself. There are six screws, very long screws, that didn't want to go in easily. My brother ended up having to help and even he was struggling. The bad part about the screws is that the only way they go is utilizing the Allen wrench tool, which is why it was so complicated getting the screws into the bookshelf. Other than that, it's a very nice and durable bookshelf.

One of the main pieces came in warped, making all the other connecting pieces off mark a bit. So, putting the pieces together was that much more of a hassle. The way it had to be assembled was also a huge pain. I ordered 2 shelves to stack one on top of the other. Even though they came in together, one had a warped piece. The holes for the right leg for both shelves were off too. So to get the horizontal pieces to fall in the correct spots, I had to adjust the nobs a bit. The assembled bookshelf is wobbly too. It's poor quality, a hassle to assemble, and expensive.
