WKRP In Cincinnati: The Complete Series (DVD)

This is the newest rerelease of the series where they reinstalled most of the original music the series used during its broadcast airing, which was just as instrumental as the dialog from the actors. one of the first and more memorable episodes to highlight what I'm talking about is the first season episode "Date with Jennifer" where Jennifer agrees to accompany Les Nessman to an award where hes gonna receive a prodigious news award. while getting ready for his "date" the station plays "foreigners" Hot Blooded. if you watch the same episode on Hulu it has some form of stock music in its place which takes away from the comedic element. One of the season 3 discs was bad, but the shipper sent me a replacement so no reason to complain

The original songs in the series were sometimes essential to the story plot in a lot of the episodes, and in the edited over-the-air edited versions of the series, a lot was lost in context, just because the rights for the original songs couldn't be acquired for a variety of reasons. Greed, mostly, if I had to guess. In any event, this DVD set tries to stay as true as possible to the original, and is truly worth the price for WKRP aficionados.
