Excellent, comfortable boot with a very cushioned sole for working on concrete & outdoors. This is my first pair of work boots and my prior boots were excellent hiking boots, but the Hellcat blows them away in regards to a cushioned sole! Excellent fit with my addition of an arch support, work socks, & an extra inner sole, all of which I need due to impact arthritis in the balls of my feet. The 8" height has twice (so far) prevented me from rolling & re-spraining an ankle. The Carbonmax toe has twice (so far) prevented toe injuries from cattle stepping on me. Hard for me to imagine a better work boot!
This is my second pair of Hellcat Ultraspring boots. They feel heavy until you get them on, then the magic happens. Light and springy on concrete. Surefooted and supportive in gravel and rocks. All day 12-13 hours comfort. The leather tends to get scuffed but nothing a little leather balm won't fix. I do notice the 8 inch top more than my other Wolverines but that is to be expected with a taller boot. Probably need to get a black pair.
Bought originally in October of 2021, had to get a replacement pair in March of 2022. Now it's mid July and they're falling apart the same way they did in March. I would think that when I pay $180 for a pair of boots that they should last longer than three and a half months.
I bought this pair of boots in March of this year. Lasted eight days in the field before the rubber stitched part around the toe ripped. I contacted customer service and they refunded my money not questions asked. This is the first time I've used this brand of boot and I'll always use this brand, Wolverine boots and product are great! I love this company and their product. No I'm not an sales men nor work for Wolverine, I'm just a believer if you want a great product and the company stands by their word/product, that's all you ask for.
Construction Inspector/Tree Care This boot has been a pretty good fit so far (1 month) and took some time to wear in, but it has proven useful in some light instances (roadwork) and heavier instances (hillside tree removal). Pros: - leather is holding up, but I condition the leather weekly - safety toe seems strong (it caught a pretty large log without much fuss) - fit is roomy, but feels secure for a big guy like me with wide, flat feet - comfortable during a normal work day, but I will probably buy some better quality insoles down the road Cons - I'm not yet confident in the sole to upper weld as my last pair of Wolverines (not this model) failed before anything else and my feet got soaked in some muddy ground - the fit got painful on steep slopes, especially on the ankle - I had to loosen the laces on the front of my ankle and tighten it higher up to distribute the tension better or it was painful to walk on uneven ground as the front of my ankle was catching the my weight - very uncomfortable to drive in, but I rarely wear them driving except on the job site
