On a whim, while looking for a gutter attachment for the Leaf Vacuum/mulcher Worx makes, I stumbled across this blower. Honestly, I was kind of underwhelmed by the blowing power of the Vacuum, and for the price, I had to add it to my cart, without thinking about the fact that I already have a leaf blower. 2 days later, it was on my porch, and 10 minutes later I had it assembled, and plugged in. It just about shot out of my hand. The power of this thing was startling. So far I have used it on 3 separate occasions. The first was to test it out on a few things around the yard, in which it did great. Pine needles on a Gravel driveway. Definitely got that job done... I might need more gravel now though. Second was with a gutter attachment that I purchased, that sadly did not fit, without making a mount to adapt to it... Gutters are now clean. The third time was a 4 hour episode of removing 3-4 years worth of leaves from a pile about the size of a swimming pool. I needed a fork hoe, and this blower, and I literally cleared the pile without breaking my back, or much of a sweat. Honestly wish I had bought this years ago... it kind of makes the Vacuum obsolete in my situation, but I do see situations where having both with still benefit me. I will likely end up purchasing a second one of these, and using one in each hand, for this autumn leaf exodus... which has begun here, in North Carolina.
My older brother was tired of sweeping off his front and back patio, so as a gift I bought this for using my shipping pass and wrote back that he loves it. He said he can blow the leaves off the entire back patio without even stepping out the doorway. I bought this along with a 25' extension cord. It is just the right length for what he needs. Leaves are now falling heavily in Winnebago, Minnesota.
I was curious as to how efficient an electric blower would be as compared to a gas blower. This electric blower is much lighter than a gas blower. I also find it safer that I'm not storing gasoline in a blower when it's not in use. This blower has 2 speeds. I have yet to need to use the highest speed. I have been using it primarily for pine needles & random yard rubbish. It is very easy to maneuver. I do find it a bit cumbersome, however, using it with one hand. I am 60+ years old & am of slight build. After 10 - 15 minutes, my arm is tired and later sore. I would use two hands but I am not very happy with the clip that is supposed to keep the extension cord in place, plugged in. I found that even using the clip, if I stretched the extension cord a little too far it would unplug. This is not enough of a deterrent for me to not continue using this product. Now that Fall is upon us, I will be making very good use of this blower. After I am done with the front yard I intend on blowing out my 2 car garage. Using this blower is definitely easier than raking an entire yard. On a side note, I have desert landscaping which makes this blower all the more efficient. I would most definitely recommend this product.
Electric handy tools, as I like to call them, have come a long way over the years and this blower from WORX is a prime example. It's lightweight, yet very powerful with a low and high speed. I was amazed at the power just on low. I used it on the walk at the end of the house on low and it took all the debris right off with out question. Definitely beets sweeping! Even with pulling a drop cord around. My next task as I looked across the yard was all the leaves laying underneath the magnolia tree (good thing a have a long drop cord) and magnolia leaves are very heavy. I used the blower on high and it swept those leaves right away with out any problem what so ever. Again, this blower saved a lot of time (and a back ache :-) ) verses using a rake. I have many more things that I want to use this WORX blower on as I get further settled into my new house and I look forward to each chore just to see how much easier they will be and how much time it will save me.
I had the privilege of testing the Worx electric blower for the Spark Review program. I'm glad I did. I've never used a blower before, so I didn't know what to expect. Once I turned the blower on, I immediately realized the power this blower has. Anything that wasn't of substantial weight was blown out of the way. It was quite funny actually. Thank goodness it has two speeds. My husband had just mowed the lawn, so this was the perfect time to test it out. It worked like a charm. It was lighter in weight than expected, around six pounds. This made for easier maneuvering and handling. It's not bulky and fits nicely in the hand. I am a female and had no problems handling it. Assembly was easy and was ready to go once put together. As for item specifications, this is a 7.5 amp electric blower. Sure, there are other blowers with more amps, but I can tell you from my experience, I don't see that it is necessary for more amps. This blower stood it's ground with what it has. With its high capacity air volume and turbine fan technology, the Worx blower could give NASA rockets a run for their money. It's that good! A feature that I particularly liked was the hassle free cord retainer. Once you plugged the blower in, the retainer kept the cord pretty much in place and out of the way. If you're looking for a good blower that will get the job done and not cost an arm and a leg, I suggest you give this one a try.
