Not really sure how you rate a spring for quality... but the ability to adjust this spring (length) was incredibly important as I was replacing a spring which I had NO idea of the original length or k-constant (I believe that's what it's called if memory of high school physics is correct - the measure of a springs "stiffness" or resistance to being pulled apart). Being able to lengthen or shorten the spring by twisting it allowed me to adjust the door to close with out slamming with out having to put new holes in (I could use the old holes with the hooks provided.

I used to spring to help close a chainlink fence gate that was continuously being left open by the kids. I used the ends of the spring to attach it directly to the chainlink fence which proved to be a lot sturdier than the small hooks. Now the gate closes automatically and problem is solved.
