We too exchanged ours twice then threw it in the trash. The last unit was only three months old and when we called La Cross they said we would have to box it up and ship it back at our expense. DUMPSTER TIME.

You have to keep moving the out door sensor around to find the right place with no direct sun or heat. (under the roof eve was too hot).

This product works very well for the price. I tried another brand in this price range (Acuwrong) and part of it did not work (wind sensor). Even the outdoor temp. sensor did not work untill I untwisted a wire inside. You can not find replacement parts either, only entire pkg. But this entire unit worked the first time. And you can find replacement pieces. I need a new outdoor temp sensor because I did not follow instructions and exposed the sensor to direct rain. But the sensor is only $25 online vs. buying the whole pkg. again, retail $149. I can recommend this package. Also I like the fact that I don't have to lower the wind unit to replace batteries (attached by phone cord for power). I wanted to see if I could use a wind turbine. Unfortunately I only have a few days of 9 mph winds each month.
