I use this in my salmon croquette patties and it is delicious. My 12 year old son tried my patties for the first time and loved them. He asks me to make them frequently now. I ran out and am looking hard to find more near by. I will definitely be buying a couple of boxes when I do find it in the store. I hope to find it soon. Try it in a new way. You won't be disappointed.
I wish it was easier to find. This is the best crack cake mix. Every time I make it for guests I always get rave reviews.
When Zatarain's Salmon Cake Mix suddenly disappeared off store shelves I was disappointed. I liked the flavor it gave the cakes even better than anything homemade. I contacted McCormick and asked if the Crab Cake Mix was anything close to having the same flavor. They basically said the two were identical. They were right.
Under seasoned; flavorless. Waste of my money. I will never purchase AGAIN; nor will I recommend it to anyone.
I combined the egg, Crab cake mix, and mayonnaise, crabmeat, also adding the optional green onion as as directed and refrigerated for the recommended 30 minutes before frying. I fried the mixture as directed, but it was just a crumbly mess! The taste was just okay, not sure that I would recommend. If I ever try again, I might add a Cajun or perhaps Old Bay for more favor.
