I purchased 5 Sarasa Dry X20 0.7 pens in Mahogany because of a Zebra pen in this style I had been given in a welcome bag for a teaching job. I loved that pen and I wanted more of them when it ran out of ink. I've now used 3 of the 5 pens. I use these pens daily -- it's my preferred ink color for everything, from To Do lists to journaling and even taking notes on the job. No smudging or smearing, but I consistently run into the ""ink flow"" problem. Even with a brand new pen, after about 5-10 minutes of writing, suddenly it's as though the pen is out of ink. I'm scratching the paper but barely getting any ink out. I don't understand why this happens, especially since the pen I was gifted never had this problem. I would love to order more of these pens because they're my favorite--when they work. Zebra, I hope you can figure out why this is happening. Unfortunately, I can't justify spending more money on pens if they aren't reliable.
I wish I would have came here and read the reviews before I went out and purchased these pens. I'm having the same ink flow problems as others have mentioned. Worst pen I have ever used. Which is upsetting because the Midliner Hightlighters are one of the best highlighters I have ever used. You would think quality of their products would be consistent.
It's strange that some folks are having drying and running, smudging problems with these. I'm using the Sarasa retractable gel pens, 14 colors, and love them. I've stored them for months, will go pick one up and it starts right off. No drying up. I've used them until they are empty, never with a glop or running problem. The barrels have held up fine. I don't get it. Maybe they fixed all the problems spoken of before I bought them 2 or so years ago. My most favorite colors of all are Cobalt, Forest, Navy, & Mahogany.
The description was poorly written, I didn't even know if I was getting 1-pen or 1-dozen; I got 1-doz. I've always liked the Zebra Sarasa and needed a Red pen so took a chance and ordered these. I got, apparently what is the new version of the Sarasa, called the dry-X which, if you go to the Zebra website seems to show all the Sarasa's are now dry-X. Anyway, it writes very well, and I like it very much, and will probably be ordering more in Blue.
I have been using the Sarasa 1.0, .5 and .7 pens for awhile....all was fine until about one year ago when each one of them will stop working and the flow of ink completely stops. Sometimes, with vigorous shaking I can get the flow back. Other times, I just through the pen out. I work in a office of 10 people and they all are experiencing the same issues. We thought that it was an isolated issue with a certain lot manufactured, but same issue is recurring with new boxes purchased. I love the pens and the different sizes available, but am getting frustrated with this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated or will need to move to another product line.
