Reasonably priced lock.Works similar to a deadbolt but only a few screw holes to drill. Very secure once installed.
Provides great protection, very easy to install.
This is by far, the best deadbolt on the market, both for detecting break-ins and more importantly, for child safety. I got it because my grandkid has figured out how to open the front door and can almost reach the lock. This is foolproof security. It's solid and very subtle so you can barely see it, unlike the hook style locks.
I love these! I have had them for years now. I just put another one on today. So I own 3 now. If the molding gets in the way you just shave it down with a dremel or chisel. On my two pictures you can see it open and closed on the other. I Did have to use my dremel to get the molding down low enough so that I could shut the door. Otherwise it was hitting the door guardian when I would go to shut it. But look! It looks fine and normal! I only trimmed where the plate of the door guardian would go, no where else. So it's only in the frame. You might notice the trim down once you opened the door. You might have to be somewhat handy if it doesn't line up right away. I know how to use basic tools though, so I got it on with just a little extra effort. It keeps my kids safe because they do not know how to open it even though they see me doing it. They are 5 and 7, but also I have to show all adults too because they can't figure it out either. Really it's easy once you explain you pull toward the door, like sideways and then swing out. If the door is unlocked while the door guardian is on then it will not budge. You can pull and pull and it wont matter. I really love these and will always recommend them.

This product is the perfect answer to any parent's worst fear. I did not know this item was available or even existed. I needed a lock on the entrance doors of the house that would secure them from being opened by my 4 year old granddaughter. I do not understand how this guardian works or why it works, IT JUST WORKS. Takes a few minutes to follow the easy instructions, a couple of screws into the door frame and the door becomes immovable. It takes 2 steps to unlock it, easy enough for an adult, not a child. I can sleep now, knowing my granddaughter cannot exit the house.
I have purchased many of these over the years for different homes and they are amazing. Just search how easy it is to kick in a door and this simple cost effective lock prevents that while at the same time acting as a child-proof lock should you need it. Every home should have one of these. We engage these locks at night when we go to bed and have the piece of mind / security to sleep soundly. When we go on vacation these give us piece of mind as well knowing that our back door which is secluded, is protected and impossible to kick in.
Perfect to put at the top of our doors. With a toddler able to open all doors (even with the little safety handle) this works wonders since it can't be reached.
I use these for my grandma with Alzheimer's. The color matched the door and door frame, which was ideal for blending in. I placed them above our heads on the doors, partially obscured by curtain ruffles (simple command hooks and a bar with decorative short curtains) so she doesn't realize they're there at all. It's saved her from wandering twice already, and held up despite her trying to yank the door open at 6am - so hard that the banging sound woke me! I know they're not meant for this purpose, but it really is wonderful for avoiding sending someone with Alzheimer's or Dementia into a rage. Instead she was just confused and irritated, and I was able to redirect her. I've made sure to never, ever let her see me locking or unlocking them, because you never know what might stick in their memory, and then risk their wandering again when they're in a delusion. Our street is fairly busy, and she could easily get lost or hurt. It's saved me endless anxiety.
Works only for door that open inward and installation is limited to vertical and parallel to handle . Does not work if instal on top or bottom. Not suitable to secure active side of French doors
