I usually buy all my knives from a very expensive company that has consultants (not naming). My husband is very picky with knives. When I got this one, I immediately tried it out and let my husband try it out. It passes both my husband and my standards, which really says a lot. I got the ivory-colored (linen) knife. I really like the color. The knife is very sharp and cuts well. We used it thinly slice bell peppers, onions, meat, and cheese. It worked excellent on all of them. The knife is a nice size as well. It is different with the blunt end instead of having a pointed tip. I would highly recommend it. The only thing I wish it had was a protected cover when storing in the drawer.
The Pioneer Woman makes some really beautiful looking cookware and cooking accessories, but this signature nakiri knife has got to be the prettiest by far. This 6.5 knife is not only beautiful, but extremely useful in the kitchen. I don't know that I'll ever use any of my other knives again. The precision sharp stainless steel blade cuts so quickly, and easily, I found myself using it for cutting meats, dicing vegetables, and slicing cheese and fruit. The blade just glides through anything allowing you to cut as thick, or thin as you desire. I love to use fruit, especially lemon, on broiled fish. Preparing super thin slices of lemon was effortless. Works the same for vegetables, too. I loved how this knife feels. The design, and balance, makes it easy to have total control of this knife as you prepare your meal. I am by no means a professional chef, but this knife handles so nicely it makes you feel like one. It actually made food preparation easy and fun! I highly recommend this knife to anyone who cooks - novice or professional.
Pioneer woman 6 inch nakiri knife in the color teal. I'm just going to start at the very beginning and say that you need this knife in your kitchen, seriously!!! My husband and I love to cook and bake and this knife has become our #1 everyday use. I'm going to get another one because we both love it that much! Very well made heavy duty forged handle, the grip in your hand is so comfortable that it feels like the knife was specially made just for you. We have cut potatoes, celery, onions, carrots, cabbage, etc and its so smooth like cutting through butter and very little (if any) sticks to the blade. I have watched Ree Drummond use this exact knife on her show and always wondered if my eyes were playing tricks on me, but its real people. The blade is high carbon stainless steel with a tempered grind edge and hash marks. The only thing I wish it had was some sort of sleeve/sheath to protect it while its stored but we wrap it in a micro fiber dish cloth. Will absolutely get more, I hope their are other sizes too, would love to have one in a smaller size. Very, very pleased with this knife. Way to go Pioneer Women!!!!!!
This knife works like a charm! This Pioneer Woman Signature Nakiri knife is a very sturdy piece of cutlery. I have tried it with just about every piece of vegetable or fruit that requires to be cut with great success. I love all the Pioneer Woman pieces so there's no surprise that I love the look of this knife from the color to the design! I wasn't expecting it to slice as good as it does, but it works perfectly. I did not make a mess with any of my overly ripe or softer fruits or vegetables because it slid right passed the harder exterior with very little effort. I am making sure to take extra care for this knife because I want it to last as long as possible. Overall this is a great knife to add to a collection or it would also make a great housewarming or wedding gift! You will not regret your decision in pick this knife!
I was anxious to try this Pioneer Woman Signature Nakiri Knife. I had never purchased anything from this Brand , happy I chose this to try. It was very easy to hold even though it was a larger knife Smooth Handle Sharp right out of the Package I used it preparing my Brisket today for St.Patricks Day, for trimming, and cutting my vegetables too. I received the Pioneer Woman signature nakiri knife. This knife is pretty large measuring almost 12 inch long and about 2 inch wide. The blade is a full tang blade so you know the handle is going to be secure. The blade is the type that is almost shaped like a rectangle where there is a boxed end on the top side of the knife. The blade itself measures about 6.5 inch long. It has a stainless steel blade with little notches in it to help food to keep from sticking from it. I find this thing is very sharp so watch out there is no cover when you are opening this thing. The handle is gorgeous with its white background and pink and purple floral design. This matches Pioneer Woman's floral motif and will go great with her other products to have a matching set. I own several of this brand knives and they are my go to products for easy cutting in the kitchen. I like how this knife is heavy duty and I think it is going to last for years. Not only is it functional but it is pretty. Cant go wrong if you need this type of Nakiri Knife!
Once again Pioneer Woman has made the perfect tool for cutting! This knife was phenomenal! It cuts evenly and no matter what type of food I'm cutting the knife went through smoothly. The handle is very sturdy and easy to grasp. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends and family.
I received a free “The Pioneer Woman” Signature Nakiri Baby Knife in Linen color to review. A Nakiri knife is used for chopping fruits, vegetables, and leafy items only. This is not a knife to chop other types of foods. This knife is as beautiful as it is functional. It comes nicely packaged with a small tip protector on it. I will start with how it looks. You can see from my pictures that the knife has “The Pioneer Woman” signature on the front side of the knife. The entire knife from the end of the blade to the end of the handle is 12” long. The blade is 6 1/2" long by 1 13/16” wide. The top of the blade is 1/8” wide making it comfortable to rest my palm on when chopping fruits and vegetables to keep the knife steady while chopping and then tapers down to a razor thin cutting edge. The blade has little notches that help give it strength and help it stay while chopping. The blade is made of stainless steel and the knife is hand washable only. The handle has an ergonomic curve to it and is evenly weighted, so the knife sits securely in my hand. On the tip of the handle there is a pretty butterfly which is the signature logo of “The Pioneer Woman” collection. For my test, the first thing that I chopped was a huge onion. The knife went through the onion as if I was cutting through butter. The cuts were clean and even and chopping the large slices into smaller sized strips that I needed was easy and quick. I have never had a Nakiri knife before and it is taking a little getting used of because you do not slice back and forth with this type of knife but instead the movements are straight down. I then used if for chopping up some carrots and celery and it worked great. I would say that any fruit or vegetable that you chop with this knife should be firm or else the downward cutting will not work. The only thing that I did not like is that it does not come with any type of blade protector and the knife is very sharp which makes storing it a little difficult until I get something to protect the knife edge. Overall, I am happy with this knife.
Pioneer Woman 6.5 Nakiri Knife has a beautiful floral handle. The weight is professional grade. Perfectly handles cuts and slices very well. This is a VERY sharp knife!!! I only wish it had deeper release dimples on the blade, because slicing some items did stick to the knife such as onions and tomatoes. It is a great quality designer knife nevertheless.
I was disappointed to see this knife did not have a sheath, like most Pioneer Woman knives do. I have a small and medium Nakiri knife, same brand, and they came with sheaths and are MUCH sharper than this one. I can usually cut up veggies with no problem, but not with this one. I finally had to stop trying to cut a tomato and use a different knife, though it did work fine on lettuce and for slicing up cucumbers, though I did have to use a different knife to peel it. So, in good conscience, I can't recommend this knife.
