Decent movie, much better in HD. Only reason to buy it. Can't beat the quality and price
The Relic is a phenomenal sci-fi/horror movie that is simply riveting. Its impact comes from a down-to-earth premis and an overall outstanding film production. The tone of this film is clearly dark and I would suggest you not watch it alone if you have a thin threshold level for shock. I saw the movie the first time over five years ago and was very impressed with it and seeing it again in Blu-Ray was like seeing it new for the first time. I'm not going to attempt to describe in detail why this movie is so good - that's something you will have to discover for yourself - but the quality of the directing, acting, casting, lighting, special effects, cinematography, music and venue are simply outstanding. The scenes where the creature is visible are simply spectacular and all I can say is that I would not want to encounter this thing under any circumstances. Many sci-fi/horror movies - Alien comes to mind - go through a series of remakes, most of which are not nearly as successful as the original. Alien was an exception in that its sequals were very good, some more than others, but why The Relic never had a sequel is a mystery to me. Get this movie. You will not be disappointed.
I absoutly LOVE this book by Preston&Child...not the best movie in the world...but still a great classic, older movie worth owning! espically for the price!!! was SO happy to find this movie for sale!
