I purchased this product because I was going to be in a musical program at our community theatre and had never sang into a mic. Hearing myself sing helped me to refine my solos. The fact that this product hooks up to the TV, as opposed to having one of those tiny screens for people to try to gather around, is a much better system. The only drawback is the mic. Not the best quality and needs a sound muffler on it (a spongy ball to slip over the piece that goes near your mouth).
I purchased this product as a Christmas surprise for an avid karaoke singer. He loved the quality of the machine. The sound is impressive for the inexpensive price. For the additional microphone, I would suggest purchasing either the same mic that is included with the machine or a higher quality mic. I bought a cheaper mic and while fine for back-up, it was obviously of lower quality than the mic included. Setting up the machine couldn't have been easier and we purchased nice CD+G discs to accompany the machine. I enjoyed the machine so much, that I am thinking about purchasing one of my own.
Bought this for my daughter's 6th birthday. She loves to sing and absolutely loves it. She uses it every day. It plays either the karaoke cds, which when you plug the machine into the tv, has the words on it. Or you can use just regular cds to sing along to. The quality isn't what you would find with a professional system, but, it's great for kids or anyone on a budget.

We bought this for our Hannah Montana-loving daughter (8-years-old) for Christmas. We shopped other models and found that this karaoke machine was an undeniably good buy based on price, performance, and customer reviews. We haven't been disappointed. In fact, on Christmas morning, this karaoke machine was an immediate hit. We're impressed with the sound quality and the simple features. Our daughter had the machine mastered within minutes and has played with it for hours with her sister and friends. Other family members have had fun with this, too. Would DEFINITELY recommend! Hint: if the master volume is less than 1/2 way up, the microphone is difficult to hear; 1/2 way up (or higher)--and it's not unbearable!--gives perfect performance.
The quality of this karaoke met my expectations as far as sound and features. Comparing to other products similar to it. It is an excellent quatily for thr price.
BOUGHT THIS FOR WHEN THE GROUP OF OUR FRIENDS, GET BOARD, WHEN THEY'RE OVER PLAYING PS2....(WE'VE NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN)...GOOD TIMES WATCHING THEM SING, AND THE ECHO EFFECT MAKES EVERYONE SOUND EVEN BETTER... WHAT I DID, WAS HOOK THE MACHINE UP TO MY V.C.R./D.V.D. PLAYER, VIA AUDIO/VIDEO PLUGS IN THE BACK... ALREADY HAVING A STERIO UNIT HOOKED UP THE SAME WAY, IN THE FRONT OF THE V.C.R./D.V.D PLAYER, THE SOUND WAS MOST EXCELLENT, KEEPING THE MICROPHONE SPEAKER UP THE HIGHEST, ECHO AT 8 AND THE MACHINE VOLUME AT HALF, AND MY STERIO, JUST A LITTLE HIGHER, IT SOUNDED EXCELLENT.. GREAT LITTLE UNIT TO OWN! (KID'S WOULD LOVE IT!).... PARENTS WOULD LOVE THIS, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE!
We got this for our 8 year old daughter as a Christmas present. She uses it every day. The sound is good and she likes to use it with regular CD's as well as the Karaoke CD's. Downside - isn't portable since you have to have a TV to view the words - but for the price (and it keeps her in her room) it's a great machine....
The children received this product for Christmas. They all like it very well. The only disappointment is that the microphones are not very loud.
I bought this product for my daughter for her birthday. She had been begging for a karaoke machine for months. I found this and based on the other reviews, thought it would be a bargain. What I found is very poor sound quality. There is not much volume in the unit and the speaker distorts at anything more than minimal volume. I didn't expect a lot for the price but I expected something much better than what I got. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone unless you really don't care about quality.
