I tried connected my Wii to a router in my home and several routers that weren't mine, none connected. Probably a setting that needed to be fixed, but the Wi Fi USB easily got my Wii online in a breeze. I recommend this over anything else.
It's a great product! It's easy installation and and fast to setup! Great product but could be cheaper.
I picked this up because I have no experience whatsoever with setting up a Wi-Fi connection. This was so easy. All you have to do is run the startup disc, find the connection with your Wii, and you're good to go! Awesome product at the everyday low Wal-Mart price.
The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector DS / Wii is a great product to get if you are wanting to play games over the internet with friends and family from your DS and/or Wii. The only usage tip I have is read the instruction book and your all set up to play, as long as you have a computer and a broad-brand internet.
I purchased this for a nintendo ds and it worked great.
okay this "nintendo wi fi usb connector is just really really helpful...i couldnt get my internet connection on the wii to work so i bought this nintendo wi fi usb connector and the internet just worked it was great so if you have any trouble setting up a connection you should really consider buying this product...i mean the wii without internet is already superb but when you add internet to it it just becomes..perfect you get game reviews and videos for free or you casn buy n64, sega genesis, etc games for as low as 500 wii points and then you get to use all the wii channels like the weather adn the news and the everyone votes channel which you can get for free at the wi shop but the best channel ever has to be the internet channel..i mean acces to the internet form your living room using your TV... is great well i think that says it all... ohh wait did i meantion is superb..wait i think i did
Since I live in a dorm, we are allowed only one internet connection registration, if that made any sense. So I had to get this wireless connector. It works well, without any interruptions. The only problem, you have to hook this thing to your computer, then leave your computer online. That's cool if you have desktop, but I have a laptop and I take it to class, so my roommate wasn't to happy about that one.
Ok, well I bought this product about a year ago to go along with my at the time new Starfox Command and Animal Crossing games. It worked for quite a while, but I became quite bored of the DS, so I quit. About a month ago, I tried to reinstall this connector, and for some reason I couldn't, and the website was no help. Finally, I got it to work after a few days of trying, but on a different computer. So, later I tried it on my computer again and it worked. This time I figured I'd attempt connecting my wii to it, which is where I ran into the most problems. The first try, it couldn't find the connector at all. On the second try, it did the sane thing. Finally, on the third try it found the connector and I was connected: However, it ran very slowly and towards the end of the update, I always got an error. Once again, the website was no help.
Well, I had purchased the original DS about a year ago. And it came with the Animal Crossing Wild World game, so I bought the USB connector because I wanted to try the Wifi. It worked for about a month, then I became bored of the game and didn't use it again. Well I just recently purchased the Pokemon Diamond game and wanted to get back on Wifi. It took me two and a half days of trouble to find out the USB is no longer compatable with my computer because of my Anti-Virus/spyware program that I had just installed and I'd have to go purchase a wireless router. Nintendo's help line people didn't know anything and their website wasn't helpful at all. The USB also gets very hot even when it's only connected for 10-20 minutes. If I were you and thinking of buying this product, you'd be better off spending an additional 20 or 30 dollars and getting a wireless router.
