Love the soft fleecy cover and the extra long cord. The large heating area covers my whole back and is perfect for warming up in a chilly room. I like the option of leaving it on plus the ability to set a two hour timer...I use it daily since I have a habit of overextending my body...
I really like this heating pad. It is very long, the length of my leg, so it is perfect, I am having health problems and my left leg and foot will not stay warm at night, I don't know why yet. I put thick fuzzy socks on my feet and the heating pad on my leg for about an hour, at night and in the morning, my leg and feet get nice and warm and I am fine the entire day. So for me this heating pad is going to save my life until I can go back to the doctor, after my blood tests, and find out why my left leg becomes ice cold mostly at night. This heating pad is very nice. I looks just like most other heating pads I seen, there is a very soft side and a regular heating pad material on the other side. I think it very nice. In my picture my lamp makes the heating pad look light gray but I think it is dark gray or green I am becoming blind I think because I have Diabetes. Anyway, the heating pad is wonderful! I love it!
Sunbeam King Size Xpress Heating Pad is large enough to cover the entire back. The heat is strong, nothing wimpy about this heating pad. We really like the controls for the amount of heat, and how long it stays on. It is a real pain reliever.
I have a rare autoimmune disease affecting all the nerves in my body from L2 - S3. This disease is extremely painful. I have found using the stay-on option, with low heat, helps relieve the pain in my legs, thus allowing me to sleep at night. Also, the stay-on option helps alleviate my lower back, muscles, and nerve pain following my PT sessions. Due to my disease, I use this heating pad nearly every day. This heating pad is a "must-have" for my medical condition. I like this heating pad: 1) Sunbeam, a very reputable company, makes it; 2) The XL size allows me to drap both of my thighs and tuck it in on the sides; 3) The stay-on option is a must to help treat my disease; 4) The ability to wash this heating pad is essential.
I'm 29, but have arthritis in my hips and a bad back, and my cat is 15 y/o with painful joints. I bought this to help with both of our pain while laying in bed, especially at night. I chose this heating pad because it is very large (I can place it on my lap and it covers both of my hips) and because it has a setting to NOT automatically turn off after X amount of time (which I need for extra cold nights.) You can choose to have it automatically turn off after 2 hours, or stay on until you turn it off yourself. Another great thing is you can unplug the cord from the pad and throw it right in the washing machine. The top is like a forest green color and very soft (micro-plush.) The bottom is a light tan color. I plugged it in right when it arrived, turned it on the highest setting, (here comes the cat) and it really started heating up within 30 seconds like it claims. It was at its highest temperature within probably 2 minutes, much faster than ANY other heating pad I've ever used. The cat slept on the heating pad for like 2 hours. I turned down the heat to the #4 setting for the last hour, and it was still very warm. The controller is pretty high tech looking for a heating pad. It has 4 buttons (On, Auto on/off, Heat up, Heat down) which are very easy to see with the heat meter light surrounding them, and the heat meter light thing really does get brighter as the heating pad gets hotter. The numbered heat level window at the top lights up when you press the 'heat up' or 'heat down' buttons. Then at the bottom there are 2 tiny red lights that shows you if you have the setting on 'Stay On', or Auto Off'. With all the lights it is totally usable even in complete darkness. It says you can lightly wet the pad with a spray bottle to use it with moist heat. I have not done that yet, but it's nice to know I can. It also has a really long cord. I was surprised at how nice the box it came in is, it looks nice enough that this could be given as a gift. The instruction sheet in the box says it has a 5 year limited warranty, but I went ahead a purchased a 2 year extended warranty for $5 from Walmart. I don't usually purchase items from Walmart, so I don't know how good their extended warranty is yet.
I was really looking forward to a heating pad that was as HOT as all the reviews on this one said it was. Warnings on the product said "Be careful not to burn skin", and "do not use if you have diabetes' , and many other warnings, making it SEEM like it would get really hot. It doesn't. I MAY try to take it back, and order a new one to SEE if it is defective, because I really wanted this item, believing it would do all that it said. Again, barely 'warm', not 'hot' at all. I have been searching for weeks for an ideal heating pad, and right now, I'm pretty much convinced one does NOT even exist. :( IF this one had lived up to the 'too hot' reviews, I'd have loved it. I wanted it HOT. Someone needs to get out there and INVENT a good one. ie: One that gets HOT enough to do some good.
We received our new Sunbeam heating pad with express heat, king size today. It is a replacement for a great unit that worked wonderfully for many years. That's why we ordered the exact model as a replacement. Unfortunately, this product is a shadow of the original unit. This product simply doesn't get hot, it barely gets warm. What happened to a formerly great product?
The heating pad itself is good. The problem is the controls. This is the second heating pad I bought that keeps flashing F no matter what I do. Don't waste your money on this one.
The first extra large (burgundy color) Xpress heat heating pad I bought lasted several years of almost daily use for my mom. I do senior home care, and over a decade I have given many of these soft, extra large heating pads as gifts and received good feedback. However, I must wonder whether quality control has become an issue over the last several years for this Sunbeam item. The last two pads I bought (dark green) were for myself and proved to be major disappointments. One lasted about two months and just stopped working. I believed it was a fluke. There is so much to like about this pad and that is why I purchased another. I should have known something was wrong with the second one because it didn't seem to get hot enough. I used it exactly 3 times before it died, flashing "F" on the hand control. I will not buy another, but I am hoping to find a longer lasting heating pad that has all the nice features of this one.
Didn't last long at all. I just bought this heating pad 1 month ago and already it stopped working.
