I like my home to be clean and love having my kitten. But when she uses her cat box, kitty litter sicks to her feet and gets on the floor. This mat keeps the litter from getting on the floor because it "brushes" off her feet when she steps out.
Definitely works better to keep litter from tracking all over the house than other mats on the market. As the owner of 5 cats, I would definitely recommend these to other shoppers looking for the best mat for the money. I'm so glad that I read the previous reviews and gave them a try for myself!
this cat mat is great. I put it at the entrance to the box and it keeps the liter on the mat, I then just pick the mat up and put liter back in box. If I could change anything it would be the shape. The half moon shape does not foot up to the shape of the cat box.
Quality product and color as advertised. Very good value.
It's perfect with any type of dusty litter! With bigger grains, like silica, it's not that effective...
Works WAY better than that gold mat with the cat's face in it, and better than another popular litter mat that is out there in the same price range. I can't stand walking on tile with litter scattered every where. YUCK!!!!! I just wish I could keep using this mat everyday. Unfortunately I have a cat who chooses to po*op - (due to a IBS problem - so it's not "easy to clean po*op" either) on the mat if it's out - and around the littler boxes 58% of the time. I CAN'T STAND cleaning that kind of mess out of this mat. Going out back and hooking up the water hose in the cold was my last time using this. (and then my dog did pull some of the material off trying to get what I missed. so when I do use it again - it will be a little hole-y LOL) The times I've been able to use this - it's been such a happy experience to walk barefoot over to the litter boxes. (i try not to do that at all - but sometimes I need to get over there quickly to prevent a smell from overcoming the house) It helps to slide this just underneath the edge of the box. Also - make sure it's in the path of where your cat jumps out of the box. It really does catch the litter. Gravel or grit type litter especially. I've not used it since switching to tidy cats multi cats (which is a non-dust type) but I can still imagine it would catch the grit. When our IBS kitty passes on to heaven - I'm breaking out the mat again to use with our longer haired kitty - because she does drag out more litter and I want to catch as much as possible. We haven't had any issues with cracking. (i'd contact the actual manufactuer. these things aren't cheap at all - anywhere. so i'd be all up on the phone or email asking for a replacement, from the actual company) The fold is still a bit there - but it's like that with any rubber-like mat...even carpets we bought at wal-mart for the kitchen. In comparing it to that gold one that is sold at wal-mart and lots of other places - it doesn't hurt to walk on it - it doesn't slide all over the place if you don't happen to put the litter box on top of it. (or even if you do) The width is probably the feature that is the best part about it, the texture/ design of the mat - which is impossible to describe is the next best feature - that keeps the litter from going everywhere it shouldn't. Good investment for a cat owner. I believe they even make a larger one - or if you use more than one box like me - you can get a couple of these and arrange them properly to catch all the angles your cats come and go.
The mat has the same curly, loopy design as the flip flops that were popular a few years ago. Made of a rubbery plastic, it's easy on kitty feet. The mat works pretty well to trap litter and keep it from being tracked into the next room. The small size is easy to pick up and shake back into the litter box but a bigger mat would be beneficial if you have more than one cat.
This mat does just the trick. I just wish the color was like it is in the picture. It's acutally has more blue in it.
My cat clearly doesn't like this mat because when he gets out of the litter box he jumps out and over the mat, which defeats the purpose of the mat.
Only been using it for over a month and already cracking at the seam from when it was folded during packaging. So so, works ok, not too soft. I think a carpet remnant wouldve worked better, would not buy another.
