We have 6 cats. Some have weight issues so we went to wet food. We use the Catit Food Maze to dispense dry treats slowly to prevent binging. All our cats love it and use it. If your cat is clever, it can pull out food faster by scooping it out the side. But for the most part they move the food from one level to the next, and then out the bottom. It does have a light base and can be tipped, but that has only happened twice so far. One of our cats was so clever as to stick his head in the top of the food maze like a bowl. We now place a small plate on the top to stop that.
I was really impressed with this product. It's sturdy, the design is great, assembly is easy. It looks great too. One problem: all three of my cats simply ignored it. I poked my fingers in to show them how to get the treats to fall. I put catnip in. I tried everything I could think of. Nada. One cat is a purebred Persian - she's extremely picky. No surprise there. The other two are barn cat stock and have been handed an easy life for 5 years. For large cats, the "stem" is not really long enough. It may be something that needs to be introduced when they're kittens and learning to play. Something to consider. We have two other Senses products - the CatIt fountain is fantastic. The grass kit is excellent. So, overall, I blame the cats not the product.
