Its a great safe, but when you close the door the mechanism takes up a few inches of room on one half of the safe, creating a real tight fit for items that are anywhere near the top, measurement for height isnt too accurate, its an inch or two shorter because of this. Other than that its sturdy and great overall.
This is going to be great for my sons dorm room, holds his laptop and other valuables!!!
I purchased this for my daughter's college dorm. It was easy to store and use and holds important papers and electronics beautifully. I would have preferred the opening to be in the front so other items could be placed on top hiding it better but still a great value.
We wanted something for our son to use at college to store his computer/watches. This fits the bill. We just got it so we did hold back on the value and expectations... but it looks very good from the start. Strongly recommend for safety at college (we looked at a lot of safes and this was the best).
This product is something between a safe and a lockbox. Heavier duty than a lockbox but lighter weight than a full-blown safe. If that's what you're looking for, I'd recommend it.
this is not a safe !!! one can easily drill holes and break into it but it requires an effort. to store documents "safely" from loose hands this does the job prefectly.
I bought 2 of these safes. I like that it has a key and digital entry. It has a shelf if you want to use it like that. I didn't so I took out the shelf. It is very heavy. It can be mounted to wall, cabinet etc. I feel confident that no one can break into it the way it's designed. It is large enough to hold a ton of stuff, important papers, passports, journals, etc. whatever you need to safely store. I ordered the safes online, free shipping and delivered to my house. Walmart notified me about delivery date, which carrier would be bringing them. I had a tracking number so I could follow the packages. They arrived on time, in perfect condition. I highly recommend the First Alert Anti Theft Digital Safe., through Walmart. I'm very pleased with Walmart and the safes.
This seems like a good, solid anti-theft safe for the money. It feels solid, but it is definitely not as thick as a fireproof safe. It could probably be opened with a number of blows from a big sledge hammer and a crowbar. I bolted it in the bottom corner of the closet, so getting a hammer, crowbar in there would be very difficult.
Bought this for a dorm. Fits my daughters 13" Mac laptop and much more. Comes with anchor screws to adhere inside a drawer. Only gave it 4 stars because it doesn't have a security cable. I couldnt find a safe that was big enough for a laptop that came with a security cable.
We have a lock picker in the family. We'll see how well this holds up.
