Cold Medicine, Sparkling Original Flavor Effervescent Tablets 48 tablets Nasal decongestant, antihistamine, analgesic. Relieves runny nose, nasal congestion, headache, body aches and sneezing. Provides temporary relief of these major symptoms of colds and flu: runny nose, nasal and sinus congestion, headache, body aches and pains, sneezing, fever and sore throat. Adults and children 12 years and older: Take two tablets fully dissolved in 4 ounces of water (use more or less water to taste). Repeat every 4 hours, not to exceed 8 tablets in any 24-hour period or as directed by a doctor. Children under 12 years of age: consult a doctor. You don't have to drink the residue on the sides or bottom of the glass. All the medicines are in the water. Children and teenagers should not use this medicine for chicken pox or flu symptoms before a doctor is consulted about Reye syndrome, a rare but serious illness reported to be associated with aspirin. Do not take this product for more than 7 days or for fever for more than 3 days unless directed by a doctor. If symptoms, including pain or fever, persist, do not improve or get worse, if new symptoms occur, or if redness or swelling is present, consult a doctor because these could be signs of a serious condition. If sore throat is severe, persists for more than 2 days, is accompanied or followed by fever, headache, rash, nausea or vomiting, consult a doctor promptly. Do not exceed recommended dosage. If nervousness, dizziness or sleeplessness occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor. May cause excitability especially in children. Do not take this product unless directed by a doctor if you are allergic to aspirin, have a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis, have asthma, glaucoma, heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, stomach problems that persist or recur, ulcers or bleeding problems, or difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland or are on a sodium restricted diet. Each tablet contains 506 mg of sodium. If ringing in the ears or loss of hearing occurs, consult a doctor before taking any more of this product. May cause drowsiness; alcohol, sedatives and tranquilizers may increase the drowsiness effect. Avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this product. Do not take this product if you are taking sedatives or tranquilizers without first consulting a doctor. Use caution when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using this product. It is especially important not to use aspirin during the last 3 months of pregnancy unless specifically directed to do so by a doctor because it may cause problems in the unborn child or complications during delivery.
