I have gone through my share of flatirons. I have purchased cheap ones, expensive ones, name brand ones, etc. I must have bad luck with flatirons since it seems like I need to purchase a new one at least once a year, if not more. One day I was using my mom's flatiron (Andis, ceramic, 2in) and it made my hair so straight, soft and silky! Since my flatiron had recently broke, I ordered the same one as my mom from walmart.com. It was at my house within 2 days! I absolutely LOVE it. It heats up so fast and works so well. I have naturally wavy/curly hair and this flatiron straightens my hair so nice. I couldn't believe how cheap it was either! I have bought CHI's, Hot Tools, and others... and by far the Andis is my favorite flatiron! I highly recommend it! It also has a 5-year warranty!!!
JUST WHAT I THOUGHT GOOD FLAT IRON I ALSO BOUGHT THE 1" FIRST FOR MY ROOTS TO GET THE CURLS/WAVYS OUT SO I KNEW THIS ONE WILL BE GOOD ALSO GREAT FLAT IRONS
This was my first flat iron that I've ever bought, so I was really excited. I have really thick and long hair so buying the 2 in. was perfect. I put the temperature on setting 5, which is REALLY hot. It's very quick and easy to straighten my hair and i love it.
I bought this product because my $100.00 HAI one broke after 1 year! I was really nervous about purchasing an inexpensive one thinking it wouldn't do the job. Well it did the job just as well as my expensive HAI/CHI brand one! I was pleasantly surprised that it straightened my hair really well and I only paid $18.99! Don't waste your money on all all those expensive ones!

This is such a great flat iron. I <3 it. I don't have $$$ for a high end one and this one works amazingly. It doesn't burn my hair and I only need to set it to 1 to get my hair nice and straight. Just use heat protection on your hair and you're good to go with this.
I purchased this flat iron, my very first, four years ago. I have very thick, curly, and generally unruley hair. This straightner works amazingly, making my hair perfectly straight and smooth. Yes, most of the gold on the plate is gone, however, none of it "melted in my hair" or "gooped" on the sides. It still does a great job, you just have to use a heat-protectant product in your hair before styling to prevent damage as a general rule. My friends who've used it at my house have also purchased it. This is by far my favorite styling tool!
i was using a conair for about 2 years which is still working but just took a while to straighten each section of my hair so i bought this since it was so affordable and had good reviews. i used it for the first time and it straightened my hair much faster. i just had to go over a section once and hold for a few seconds to straighten. i should tell you to be careful though cos it does get very hot, and fast!... i recommend you start on a medium heat and take it from there
I purchased this straightener less than 1 year ago. It worked pretty well for the first couple of months. After that, what I can only guess is the gold paint that they used to paint the iron plates began to come off. IT is really gross because it did not just flake off but appeared to melt off because there was a strange gold/brown "goop" around the plates. I can only image what getting this marvelous substance in your hair does!!! DO NOT BUY IT! I have never had another straightener do this. Spend a little more money and get something nicer(that will not get goop in your hair).
I have bought many flat irons and some for the same price, this is overall the worst one i have bought. It has a horrible smell every time you turn it on.
