I went to a bunch of local places and could only find expensive (6-7 bucks a pound) pretrimmed brisket. This is the second time I've ordered the full one from Walmart and they've both smoked absolutely perfectly. Well marbled. Absolutely delicious! Well worth the money and you've got leftovers for a while unless you've got some very hungry guests!
Incredible amount of FAT… prepare to spend half an hour carving this cut. Out of a 17%23 brisket I ended up with 8.1 oz of cookable meat and ended up spending $8.50 per pound….. I figured it would need some cleaning up because of how cheap per pound it is but dang I didn't expect 2 inches of fat across the entire cut. Won't be buying again that's for sure
Bought a 13.3 pd brisket to brine for boiled dinner. Cost 3.96 a pound total $55 and change. I would say a third was fat that needed to be trimmed. You should really trim before selling this item. Picture of all the fat trimmed!
I am very disappointed this brisket is 80/ fat. I will never do instant cart at Walmart again.
We picked up or meat from the curbside pick up. 2 Large briskets almost 80$ the date to day is Feb 9 2023. - we didn’t look at them Till we got home. The sell date was February 3. They are brown and starting to smell
It's all fat … they save the meat for I don't know what but all you get is a sliver of meat and a huge hunk of fat
ive bought many smaller briskets from ealmart but this was my first larger one wince i purchased a larger smoker. im used to trimming briskets but this was just plain cheap. usual trimmings are around 1 pound or under. this was 4.7%23 of pure silver skin. not fat, just silver skin. Paying per pound and including thst much skin is pure robbery. especially when its 1/4 of whatbi paid for and cannot use.
on my order today I ordered a brisket turns out to be a 14 lb brisket. upon opening the package and having actually gotten to look at the brisket I noticed that almost 10 lb of it is all fat. now I know there should be fat on a brisket they're usually is but not 10 lb of it there's literally almost no meat on this thing. I don't know how I would go about returning it to you and starting to return on this since it's already opened but I just wanted to let you know that I'm very dissatisfied with the cut of meat I was delivered. if there were ways to take pictures of it for you so I can show you what I'm talking about I would be happy to do so cuz literally there's almost no meat on this brisket.
pictures make anything look good but careful when others do your shopping for you. they select a pack of meat and aren't really looking at, or care that your mighty hard-earned dollars are going towards a pack of meat that is 50-60 FAT! I mean, what am I really paying for hear? If the employee who is doing the shopping, surely they would not want to pay for nothing but fat!!! And what is up with this meat's color? Was it already turning bad?? To begin with, I NEVER buy brisket or much beef because it is EXPENSIVE but when I do, does Walmart think I want to have FAT SUBSTANCE for dinner, today on New Year's with guests coming? You should be ashamed for doing business with whomever you get your market from, and sell it to the public. I have complained of a few screw ups from Walmart online grocery, and I still try to give you chance after chance but you are about to lose a faithful Walmart online shopper (as i can't walk much at my age), but I may have to move on to another store NOT WALMART, if you cant hire and train your grocery department how to select products, STOP crushing my bread products and make sure THEY STOP LEAVING MY ITEMS OUT!!!
You want some fat on a brisket, but come on. This is practically fraud. I got a 12.52lb brisket, and trimmed it before going into the smoker. I left a lot of fat on it to keep it moist during the smoke, but even then, I took 2lbs 9ounces of fat off. At almost $4 a pound, that's over $10 straight in the trash. There was probably 3/4 to a full pound of fat that I left on still, so you're really paying for 20-25% (or more) of the entire brisket in fat. That's just excessive by any measure and it's hard not to feel ripped off.
