Exciting,( a little scary for young kids),adventure movie. Good special effects for 1960. hero, villains, damsel in distress, epic time travel story. upbeat ending
This is the definitive example of what a great si-fi movie should be. Start off with a fantastic sound track score, a tight story line, and most of all, engaging characters you can actually care about. The 1960's special effects still hold up very well, compared to some of today's dreary computer created "realities". Thanks to the excellent DVD transfer and story bonus features, I shall continue to enjoy George Pal's THE TIME MACHINE for many years to come. I think you will to.
The Time Machine is a fun movie and totally approptiate for family viewing, unlike the more recent version, which is totally innappropriate for family viewing.
the time machine is a great movie and on dvd it is much better, the dvd includes a documentary including the entire cast and the theatrical trailer, i would say this movie is a good price for the things included.
Me and my 5th graders read the abridged edition of H. G. Wells classic, The Time Machine. We viewed the 1960 version as followup. The children were amazed with the movie even though it lacks today's visual effects. For me, watching The Time Machine was a step back into my past. I enjoyed it as much as I did in 1960! There was also surprising extra footage after the movie that impressed me.
