I needed to replace a older am/fm/cd player with separate speakers that took up most of my night stand. I saw some reviews that said the sound wasn't great, well if you are buying this for a party type cd player then this may not be for you. It works great for me to put on a cd at bedtime and know it will shut off when it ends. The sound is great in my opinion but I don't have it turned up loud. Very easy to use buttons, no skipping and doesn't take up a lot of space. I can't say much about the radio since I haven't tried that, I purchased this for the cd player only. Hey for $20 its worth a try, you can always return it! I guess the only bad thing I could say about it is the odd plastic smell it had the first few days when it was in use but that has since disappeared.
my husband and I were looking for a boombox that had a cd player on it and when we saw this it was perfect it fit right in our budget n we like to listen to our CD s when we do chores or just want to sit back n relax n listen to some music this Boombox was small but its perfect for us we wanted something not too big and this product was perfect for us we love it and we don't have any problems with Walmart.com we like buying stuff on here and will be buying some more products on here soon

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This radio is a great way to hear music, listen to the radio, and play audio from an external device. The Boombox with AM/FM radio is great as a newly owned device for any individual apartment. The radio is small and is battery and cord operated. The antenna is not a hazard and can be managed with the chord holder in the back. I enjoy the volume range, and bass that is provided during times of listening to the radio. Thank you, Best Buy!
OK for sound in a non-audiophile way. Tuner too sensitive but the minimal controls and displays are exactly as advertised. Power plug fit so sloppy that it lost power on slightest vibration. One wrap of electrical tape snugged it perfectly. Is plugged in for computer so battery life unrated. Small footprint in cramped quarters. Perfect for my expectations of its intended use at the price.
This unit was very inexpensive so I should not expect too much. It is a great value and works great. My only gripe is with the layout of the buttons. They are basically in a scrambled pattern with little or no logic to them so I am left with memorizing what each one does (also very hard to read and I often listen in the dark so need to go my feel).
I brought for my mother. She needed a new cd player and this was a nice buy for the price. The only fault is the way you turn it on. Its in the back of the cd player. The buttons for the cd player only have symbols and not words make it hard for elderly people to use. They have to memorize all the buttons and they tend to forget. Also the cord is removable and that also causes a problem for elderly people (who are always moving things around). To load the cd player is ok almost like the cd and radio players of the past that a good thing. Overall for the price it is worth it. But it's not for elderly people.
I would have given this 5 stars if the controls were easy to use. Selection for cd/am/fm is on the back and not easily used. when using the radio, the station does not show in the display. The sound is good, so the radio works good enough. I am not interested in playing cds so cannot speak about the cd player.
I have written and called them about the missing part of a wire since day one. NOT ONE word in response on how to fix this issue. I do NOT recommend anyone buying this item. This is my first bad response of any product! The wire for the hook up for the phone is not installed properly and the end is not there!
Bought this little boombox for my 5 yr old, thought Id start small....the sound was HORRIBLE!! Using the CD player the sound was full of static on all CDs. The volume hardly turned up enough for you to hear in a small room. Also, it is not very kid friendly for operating it. I know I was only 25 bucks, but I returned it for something with better quality.
