Don't confuse this product with other similar bug chaser sticks. There is no comparison. I've tried 3 other brands when these were not in stock and felt like I wasted my money. I use a barbecue lighter and it takes a minute to get them started but once lit, they burn steadily, evenly and for the stated 3-4 hrs duration. I use them alot when working in gardens during the day / evening, or sitting out at night, usually 2-3 at a time. Spaced out around the area I'm working in, I am not bothered by mosquitoes at all. As others have mentioned, the stores don't seem to stock enough inventory. For that reason, I usually pick up 7-8 packs as soon as I see them on the shelf! Other brands do not stay lit, burn unevenly, and don't seem to be as effective with keeping bugs at bay. Because of how they burn I would be careful if you have little kids. Sticking them in a hanging flower basket away from curious little hands will chase the bugs and protect the kids from accidentally burning themselves. The REPEL product is a 5 Star product in my book. I just wish the store would increase the inventory and quit wasting space on those less than stellar competitor brands.
Works very well, but I'm always having trouble finding it on stores.

My only concern is that the stores in my area do not stock the item sufficiently. We have a very large yard, so when we are entertaining guests we need to be able to get more than 2 boxes at a time. Also, we prefer to have a supply on hand without having to run to the store. Just want to be able to get more.
Thsee worked awesome wish I would have bought enough for the third day which we got ate up

These are pretty effective at keeping the bugs away during the day before you start a campfire. Just put it between your camp chairs.
Local Walmarts have quit selling the coils, (which btw work just as well, cost less, are more accommodating to spread about and last WAAAAYYYY longer) without any warning at all. Since the store is over 15 miles away, this was more than just a little disappointing. As to the sticks....SO GROSS! Peuwwww! Will never buy them again. To those who have trouble lighting them, YES...They are MISERABLE to light! But you can overcome this with a candle. I keep my supplies in a plastic coffee can (coils, lighters, old candles, etc.) Just light a candle and hold the stick upside down over the flame for awhile until it takes hold. Then get ready for the smell! Yuk.
Good idea, poorly executed. Unfortunately these stakes would take a few mins of constant flame from the lighter to ignite, then would only smoke for about 10 mins before becoming useless. Maybe it was a bad batch, but I wouldn't recommend purchasing these nor would I purchase them again. Stick with a good citronella candle.
