Worked Great for my dog

I have a beagle and I live in a small apartment. He would bark everyday as I was leaving for work and if you have ever heard a hound dog bark- it is a very loud, deep, and long bark. I bought the Guardian Bark Control stationary unit because I didn't want him to have to wear a shock collar or use any other type of harmful shocking devices. Plus, he only barked when I left him in the apartment and we never had any problems with his barking at any other time. This device was wonderful for what I used it for. My dog heard the noise one time- he wined a little and covered his ears with his paws. since the initial time the device went off it has only went off one other time and my dog has completely quit barking. this is great for me, however, people who want there dogs to bark for intruders or other reasons may have a problem with this. My dog has quit barking while chasing cats outside even. Unfortunatley my husband is not really happy that he no longer barks when he goes rabbit hunting, but I think that he may learn that he is allowed to bark outside. We have only had this product for about 2 months!

We have three small dogs that sleep in crates in our laundry room. When we "put them to bed" they would bark like crazy. We went to sleep hearing them bark and woke up to them barking in the morning. We bought this and put it in the laundry room with the dogs. Problem solved literally overnight! It will not stop dogs from barking everywhere (instructions say it works within 20 feet I think), but it is perfect for creating a "bark free" zone in your home. I hope it helps you as much as it has helped us. Good luck!

This product has proven to be very effective after two uses. I don't use it all the time because I want my dog to bark at choice times but it effectively curtailed his tantrum barking.

We have 2 female 5 lb. Malteses. The younger one feels the need to bark at just about everything, indoors and outdoors. ie: a leaf blowing in the breeze. Her barking of course gets the the other one barking. I had originally ordered the collars, not to zap them, but with the high pitched tones. They did not work nor fit our little ones. The 1st day, (with the Guardian) I would press the button, and give them both a verbal "NO BARK" command. It worked!!!! ( they ducked down and ran to hide) but THEY STOPPED BARKING!!! I only had to do this 3 times, and the crazy barking stopped!!! I was SO impressed!!! After that, a verbal "No Bark" command would shut them up!!! This was GREAT!!! We did notice that our older Maltese (8 yrs. old) was very offended, she went and hid, would not come by any of the family etc... (for hours), would not eat or even take her treats etc... SHE was very SHOOK UP!!! The first time I let them out on the second day, she decided to try and run away from home! She marched down the sidewalk,(which she has NEVER done before) and would not respond to any verbal commands, she was obviously very offended, and decided she was not going to take it anymore....lol!!! We retrieved her, loved her up, asked for forgiveness etc... We did not have to use the box again for a few weeks, then the younger one started doing her crazy barking over anything and everything again. They were not responding to the verbal commands at all... again!!!! So, we used the box 2 more times. It stopped them from barking, they would run and hide, but again the older one decided to try and leave home AGAIN!!! I wish there was a setting on the box for the intensity of the high pitched sound. Also, if it had a receiver attachment that could be attached to the problem barker's collar, so that only they would hear it, that would be great! Also, it went thru a battery in 2 weeks, and we had only pressed the button to use it 3-4 times!!! I would say that for households with one dog, it is great! Also, why not have it be a rechargable battery? We will not use this again because it upsets our older baby too much, so we are still looking for a better product for our situation!

Great For Small Dogs Only

We had a small Pomeranian that barked for no reason, he would walk around in circles barking at the ground. We bought this and it worked great for him, he stopped barking altogether. We simply just pointed it at him and pushed the button when he barked. However, when used on 2 Pit/Lab mixes, it had a slight effect for 2 days. After that, it seems like theyre too busy barking to notice the noise, or they turn and bark at the noise. Not to mention it doesn't go off automatically like it says unless its a real deep bark RIGHT next to the device, like an inch away. Otherwise its all manual.

Didn't Work for Me

I have a pomeranian dog so not sure if it does depend on the breed, but this item doesn't seem to be working. It doesn't make a humanly audible sound, just lights up if you push the top button to test it so not sure how well it works. My dog is still barking quite a bit but again, variables can exist since I have my dog in a small patio yard off a main road.

This really didn't work for us. We have two dogs and the "alarm" only seemed to go off when the big dog barked and when my husband talked! It didn't go off when our little dog (a pommeranian) was barking unless the other dog barked too! (or if my hubby was talking)

We got this for our dogs barking all of the time. It worked ok for our lab mix but for our mastiff he just stands there looks at it while he barks and then barks more. To me it was a huge waste of money. Another one of those "You get what you pay for". I would not recomend this to anyone.

This device does emit an ultrasonic sound that the dog can hear but does not deter his barking. I have a yellow lab with a loud bark and this device did not make it any better. I returned the product to get my money back. Save your money and buy another device.

I used this product for five days on a small Terrier mix and a Lab with dissapointing results. They both reacted to it but it did nothing to subside the barking. The Terrier mix just cocked her head and went back to barking.
