I am moving from a Note 4 to the Note 9. I looked and studied all phones on the market for years, glitched, problems, benefits and how well they would fit my need/want. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the Note 9. Transfer of information, pictures, apps, etc. was so easy. uploading my databases, powerpoints, and other work necessities was a breeze. the ability to hook it to my computer, work from the phone or computer and to have it show on both at once is too cool!!

I have bought this phone to be my companion for the next few years as I head into the business world and university. As it stands, I have to give props to Samsung for a "no compromises" gadget here. The screen is an amazing centerpiece to the industrial design surrounding it. With bright colors and dark blacks I have to give this AMOLED Panel my nod of approval Its looks are minimal but it doesn't mean I don't like it. With the blacked out front to immerse the beautiful display, and blue back to show off the industrial design I am impressed. The S-Pen was a new thing coming from the S7. Very handy in note taking and such, but I find I don't use at much as anticipated. I still give a thumbs up for its utility. Battery life, for me, has been phenomenal. With Five hours of Screen-on-Time I have never had a phone meet this metric (Besides putting a bigger battery inside of one). With some combination of Software, Screen, and CPU Enhancements. I give this one a huge thumbs up if you're looking for great battery life. Just remember, your mileage may vary. In conclusion, this phone is a pricey, yet cheap-er in comparison to the new Iphones. The utility it brings to the table is nothing short of breath taking. If you have the money to buy or catch it on sale, take the opportunity to buy this amazing device.

All phones should have this battery!

My previous phone was a nexus 6p. I bought this phone after considering new iPhones, google pixels, and galaxy s9. The decider for me was battery size. I am not disappointed! This is the first phone I've ever had that allows me to use ALL of its features, ALL of the time. And yet the battery has never been lower than 29% after using the phone all day, every day. I turn it on at 6:30am, use it all day then at 11:00pm, I put it in the wireless charger over night. During the day there is no need to disable location, push notifications, or anything else. Every day I use Google fit while playing iheart radio for 2 to 3 hours. At all times, I search the internet, use email, texting and make/receive phone calls while I am in or out of the car. While walking, I use Bluetooth earbuds, and in the car, the phone is always paired. At home I also send podcasts to my TV via Chromecast. I have owned 3 iphones, an S4, a Note4, and the 6p. All of them had to be charged in the late afternoon, unless I disabled some of the features, such as location tracking. This one has never been charged during the day. Only needs one overnight charge. Why do companies market devices that won't last a whole day unless you cripple them? Yay Samsung! I intend to get another note9 for my wife, as soon as I can find a good deal.

I bought this phone the end of November but after today decided I should leave a review. We just had over 10 inches of snow here in Ohio. I went out today to walk my husky in the snow. My dog and I were thoroughly enjoying the first major snow of the season so i had my phone out a few times taking pics and videos. When i returned home, I realized that I didn't have my phone with me. I retraced my steps 4 times before I found my phone buried in the deep snow drift shortly before it got dark out. It had been buried in the snow for at least 1 hour 15 minutes when I found it and when I picked it up, it was still on and all functions were working properly! I did have an alert that moisture was detected in the charging port but that went awsy after about 15 minutes. Unbelievable. I am so thankful for this well designed phone designed to withstand these elements!!! It also takes some great pics and has amazing battery life!!

I received my new note9 a week or so so. Not very happy with it coming from the note 8. I'll probably return the note9. Luckily, I haven't sent my note 8 for the trade in yet.

Display failing - right after warranty ended

This was my absolute favorite phone of all time. I LOVED it. I had literally not a single complaint about it...until yesterday, when I picked up my phone and saw a bright neon pink line going vertically down the entire screen. It does not go away no matter what I do. This phone was never dropped, mishandled or submerged in water, nothing like that. And yet I have a horrible pink line obstructing everything on the screen now. And of course this happened right after the warranty on my VERY EXPENSIVE PHONE expired. A cursory search online reveals that this is a known issue with Samsung's Edge Screen phones, however I'm not going to hold my breath to see if they recall/fix it and do right by their customers. I should not have to pay to repair a phone with a factory defect.

Major features do not work

I bought this phone in mid October and there are several major issues. The Android auto interface does not work for Google maps, which is the main function I use. Once you plug it in, you can't control navigation at all. If you have it started before plugging your phone in, it will finish the current navigation. Additionally, the phone consistently does not fully charge when using the official Samsung fast charger. It reaches a point and then tapers off, all while on the charger. (I leave it in overnight so it doesn't move.)
