My R8000P was super simple to set up. Just download the app, plug in, and follow the setup steps. Took me longer to pull everything out of the box than it did to complete the setup. The range on this thing it awesome. It reaches from one end of the house to the other with no issues. Great product.
Excellent purchase of a router. I love the nighthawk app and extra levels of security including Vulnerability scans that prevent phishing attempts from text messages via phone or email messages.
I recently upgraded from a dual band to the tri band router. This exceeds expectations and covers our house very well without the need for a mesh system. We run multiple devices for streaming and gaming, as well as a smart home hub and security system. This thing is no slouch and is the real deal! I recommend for anyone looking to upgrade.
This unit replaced my 5 year old AC3200. Setup was identical as well as form factor. The coverage is amazing as expected. I even notice the uptick in 2.4ghz speed because I have 5 ring cameras that use that 2.4ghz band/frequency. It's a great router so far and I'm confident it will last me another 5 years. I highly recommend this router!!!
Great product but I'm trying to learn it well enough to get its peak performance. The app is a very helpful companion to it, but I wish it offered more details on the devices getting a signal from it. Some are automatically identified and others are listed as unknown. Trying to narrow down which device that is can be a task with all the devices in this household. All-in-all, this has been the best router that I have ever purchased.
The Netgear Nighthawk is a drastic improvement over my other Netgear router that was 13 years old and still working fine, but he nee Nighthawk setup was easy because I already had a previous Netgear router, the App used for setup is also easy to download and Navigate, the speed is extremely fast even with the limits my cable company has with its system, the only complaint I have is the range is better but I expe ted more with 3500 square feet of coverage, I still on a two story house don't receive the signal strength I felt I should have with this router, I did hours of testing moving the routers wings and finally found a aiming point with them that was okay for upstairs. I still highly recommend this router but I still would suggest a Extender if you want maximum coverage.
bought for armor security thru router works but issues with poor interface-problem settings also used linksys easy to use great interface simple asus very good easy to set. netgear has known problems. off shore support. people that read screens, spent hours to setup port forwarding . went thru three units. simple 15 minutes on other brands. i had to fix port forwarding by using linksys to open port. armor is by bitdefender software which works well.
great router. works well, but I didn't appreciate recieving a used, scratched up router with no instructions when I payed well over $200 for it. Instead of just shipping it out, they also waited until last minute to ship it out. It could have taken 3 days to get, but I stead it took the whole 3 weeks. I personally Do Not recommend buying from this distributor.
Both Wired and Wi-Fi is not up to its advertised specifications. Comcast's Modem(XB-7) outperform In both wired and Wi-Fi configuration. At a registered speed of 600mps, the Nighthawk achieves 120mps for Wi-Fi(2.4 & 5) and unstable speed of 400-600mps Wired. Meanwhile the Stock modem from XB-7 achieves 400mps for Wi-Fi(2.4 &5) and 600+mps wired. **To make things worse, Activating the trial Armor security drops the speed down to 20-40mps for Wi-Fi. And Activating the built-in Circle(parental control) renders the router useless. The only upside is the range capacity. Very very disappointed.
We were sent a refurbished product despite paying full price for a new one. We have also seen just a negligible increase in our WiFi speeds, despite the close to $300 price tag. We definitely do not recommend the product and most definitely not from this seller, who can not be trust to send you the non-refurbished unit you paid for.
