I looked at like 20 different workshops for my 4 year old son for Christmas. And some how I always overlooked this one. In the end this is the very best one. Setup is easy(I don't build things well)!! It does need a bunch of batteries but that is because the drill, grinder, light, and table saw all work which is AWESOME. His face lite up so much Christmas morning and he and I have had some great fun playing. DADS...... get this toy. You will enjoy the time spent with your sons!!
We purchased this for our 4 year old granddaughter who has autism and needs some additional help with hand eye coordination. She loves to work with the tools and her twin sister and cousins really enjoy it, also. Not certain of the recommended ages but their ages are from 4-7 years old. Once again, Little Tikes made a quality toy that the kids love AND it is good for them! Thanks!
My husband and I wanted to get our grandson a workbench for Chistmas. With so many out there we weren't sure what one to get. When visiting during Thanksgiving he kept telling us everytime we went into a store or saw an ad on TV that he had asked Santa for that one. He made the choose very easy for us. Wal mart made the shopping easy. We live in New England and my grandson lives in NC. The work bence got there on time and was easy for my daughter and son in law to set up. Though I have not seen it yet my daughter says he loves it! He is 3 and enjoys putting the little car together and "fixes" everything. He gets many hours of enjoyment with it.
Our grandson is two and likes all the tools. He is too young to understand what some of them are used for, ( but he is learning real quick )if you have a mechanic in your house ..believe me , they will love it as much as the kids !! All the tools work..it is a GREAT toy and kids can learn with it also.
This workshop was a little pricier than other ones I researched, but it was definitely worth it. The set comes with a lot of tools and nails/screws, including 3 power tools that operate with batteries, and was very easy to put together. The power drill actually works with the screws provided and even drills in both directions. My two-year old son loves hammering in the nails on the workbench side and enjoys taking off the wheels on the blue car and putting them back on with the tools provided. He is not too interested in the engine side of the workbench. But this is by far his favorite toy and he plays with it every day. We've had older kids come over who also enjoyed playing with it, so we expect to use it for several more years.
I bought this for my Grandson's 3rd Birthday and he just loves it. He and his mom play a lot with. He says they are teamworking.
My 3 year old has had SO much fun with this workbench. There are so many things for him to do. (which was a must when I was shopping around) The car engine part of the workbench has so many things for him to take off, turn and then put back on. The little play car is a blast too because you can take the tires off with a screwdriver or drill and there is a screw holding the engine in. The drill is just like Daddy's and even turns both ways. He has played with this toy for HOURS! I definitely recommend it to anyone!
We bought this product for my son who is 22 months old. He is a little young for some of the components but will definitely grow into it and already loves to play with the screw driver and other tools. He really likes hitting the nails with his hammer! I expect he will discover how much more fun he can have as he gets older. I see this as a fun toy for many years.
My young son loves the workbench. The moving motor and the removable saw and grinder are his favorites. The bar light runs on watch batteries and has no auto off which is annoying given that batteries are not included, watch batteries are not always available, and all the other pieces run on AAA batteries. But my son has been having a lot of fun, and that's what it is about.
This item was the top one desired by my grandson, who lives 400 miles away in NC. When my daughter went to put it together, it was broken and could not be fully assembled, so she will have to go back to WalMart to have it replaced. He was very excited about it, but I am disappointed with the manufacturer, that they could not package it better.
