my old monitor was used and the antenna was coming loose and it ate up 9v batteries like nobody's business, so I looked all through Walmart's selection of monitors (because they always have the lowest prices!) and found this one. I love green, so that was a selling point, it has rechargeable batteries, so that is a great selling point, and it is sleek looking. So, my old one, I used to have to have turned all the way up, and could mainly hear static and no baby noise. But this one, I have on the lowest volume level possible, and can hear my children's bedtime cd playing perfectly. I also love how whether the volume is up or down, there are the blue equalizer-style noise things, so you can tell there is noise if the volume is off. This is an awesome item for any parent!
I am a caregiver for an elderly parent who lives in an addition on my house. This monitor is pefect. Unobtrusive - sits on her dresser yet I can hear as if I were standing next to her. If she calls in the night between the sound & the flashing light - I am sure to be wakened. During the day I can carry my unit with me if needed or I can just turn the volume up and pretty much hear it wherever I am in the house.
So far we really like the product. Couldn't rate the durability because we haven't used it yet. The baby isn't due for 2 more mos. Much less than jcpenney & co., and I didn't have to pay s&h. I really like Walmart's shop online.
I love the color! And they work great in my house. No static like other reviews had said and the sound quality is great. I am very happy with this purchase.
I love the clarity this monitor offers. It does it's job well. I would buy it again if I needed another one. I do want to mention some things that are slightly annoying to me about it but not annoying enough to take it back. First of all the lights are very bright. So when I have it plugged into the charger at night I have to cover the lights up with something or it lights my whole room up with a blue glow. Because it is so sensitive it will pick up a small sound and flicker it's lights often enough to keep me tossing in bed at night. Now that I have it covered up that problem is resolved. The other annoyance is that we run a sound machine in the babies room and because of that constant sound we have noticed that the monitor goes silent for a couple seconds at a time, perhaps to reestablish the best digital signal, but the going silent is very obvious because of the sound machine. As far as I am concerned this is something all digital monitors do but I thought I should warn a perspective buyer.
This product is a good value for the price paid. The only complaint I would have is it's susceptability to interference. Not voices or anything, just general skips and blips. Overall, we are very satisfied and would recommend this product.
Unfortunately this product did not hold up to our expectations, besides the cost there was nothing else that we liked. There was a constant hum and not a quiet one either. The Light that flashed at night was bright and annoying. We could not sleep and unplugged it the first night after fifteen minutes. I would not recommend these to anyone!
I really thought this was going to be a good product but am very disappointed. There is a constant static and the instructions only says to move the adult unit closer to the baby's unit which does not solve the problem at all. When the baby makes noise, the only thing you hear is a louder version of the static. I absolutely reccomend you save your money and just buy a regular, cheaper monitor.
I checked the reviews before I purchased the product and they seemed good, however when I received the product it did not work well at all for me. The monitor always makes an awful buzzing noise no matter where I have it. I thought it was supposed to be clear but it's not and when the baby makes a noise it only picks up about half of the sound. Its very choppy and not of good quality. I ended up getting a cheaper monitor that works a lot better.
I bought this monitor for my 3rd child. I hate it so much. Its very staticy and buzzs all the time. I called the company thinking that maybe I just got a defected one and they asked me if I had a wireless internet. Yes I do.. They said thats why it doesnt work like its supposed to. So if you have wireless interner dont waste your money on this one. Im taking it back and getting a new one today.
