I have owned this model of trimmer for six years and just today it stopped working. Six years of service is not bad for this price. I am going to the store to purchase another one just like it and will be using it for another six years.
took care of all myweeds great job
I usually don't buy the cheapest tool at a store (just out of habit), but I did after reading the mostly positive reviews for this product. I was definitely not disappointed. I'm hardly a handy-man, but assembly was very easy. I imagine anyone with basic reading comprehension skills can manage with the instructions; but they even include little pictures. The tool itself cuts through grass and most weeds quite easily, but I found myself having to refeed the line several times (but the frequent line breakage could be my own fault--hitting rocks, fences, etc.). Overall, the line they provide seems a little low quality; but it still gets the job done and the tool itself works so well, even with heavy use. The edging mode also works well, and the shield is easy to adjust. Totally worth the money, and my yard looks nice again!
My little line cutting blade has broken off after 4 years of really hard work on this product. I have used this same model over a span of 20 years and I have maybe bought 4 or 5 and will go get another one today. I use these alot and I put it through rigorous workouts and it keeps on working. I can't do without it. I live rural and use it for alot for grass and brush. Love this machine.
This has to be the best investment I have ever made in my life. For this price, this thing is awesome! I have had mine now for 3 years and it has stayed out in the weather everyday all year long and the thing still works. I just knew this year when I went to plug it up it would not work because of all the snow and cold weather we've had, but it did I was amazed. It is as powerful as most gas trimmers. I will definately purchase another when and if this one every tears up.
IT'S WINTER, SO I HAVEN'T USED IT YET. BUT I DID PLUG IT IN AND IT WORKED. MORE THAN I CAN SAY ABOUT THE ONE I GOT AT LOWE'S. LIGHT WEIGHT SO IT WON'T HURT MY BACK AS MUCH AS A GAS ONE OR THE BIGGER ONES WOULD.NORMALLY I USE A WEED EATER EVERY WEEK, I HAVE OWN A WEED EATER BEFORE LASTED 10 YEARS HOPE THIS ONE DOES TOO. I ONLY HAD THIS ONE A WEED, SO I LOOK FORWARD TO USING IT.
It looks good and feels good.
The only reason I did not give this product 5 stars across the board is because I have not owned it very long. This was the least expensive weed eater I could find, but I did not buy it for that reason. I bought it because if still has the "tap" feed line dispenser, which works so well. All the other machines seemed to have the automatic line feed and so many people were complaining about how those wasted line. So far, for any reasonable price, this is the best I could find in inexpensive electlric units. I have done about a half-acre of heavy weeds with this little guy. Beautiful! I have already gotten my money's worth.
This fell apart and broke in less than 15 minutes of use. The spool feed did not work. The machine is 95% plastic. The only metal is the pole and spring in the spool area. The shield broke almost immediately -- the plastic cracked and would not stay on the machine. I returned it to the store as defective. Do not waste your time.
What a disappoinment. I used this device 3 or 4 times when the guard broke off. You can't use it without it, so it's sitting at the curb with the trash now. The best one I ever owned was a small electric Black & Decker, and I can't find a similar one anymore.
