Great little machine for beginners. I do not like the angle blanket stitch. other than that it's easy to use. Great as a first sewing machine or a backup to your expensive sewing machine.... all in all... I'd buy it again.
I took it out the box, got it ready to sew. Watched a few videos on threading and stitches It was easy to follow the many instructions. I started sewing on it, I love the smooth motor, it has a good, quality sound. The stitches are perfect! I wanted to upload photos to show the many layers of calico and a heavier cotton fabric that the machine was able to push through easily. I took my time, not wanting to break anything. But I had trouble with the internet tryimg to upload. I like everything about this model Brother sewing machine. It's very well made. I think the LED light could be brighter, but I sew with a OTT task light. I like the way the body is designed. The foot pedal is not cheap looking. Me and this machine will be sewing a lot. My experience level is intermediate. I atarted sewing offically in 1972 on my Moms 1951 Singer machine. I was 15. I went on to make many things, mostly my own clothes as a teenager. And I made handbags, quilts, flags for a car club, etc. I think this model MZ53 is a very good buy.

love this sewing machine its easy to use and the features are great bobbing is super easy to thread and the material just slides so smoothly when sewing I would definitely buy another one!
compared to my last brother sewing machine this one works quite differently. I am still getting used to the different settings,otherwise it works well
It's similar to my old one that the cat knocked over and broke. I've used it everyday since I received it about two weeks ago. I really like it and a good price. It's easy to use.

Like the fact that it is sturdy but not overly heavy. I disliked the fact that the instructions were not complete. I will need some time to figure out how to adjust the dials for better stitches. In time I will enjoy Do not assume everyone has a cd player to find out about the machine.
Lacks solving problems using the information guide. Still trying to get a good stitch
