My dog (mostly Boxer breed) needed a dog food that was good for her. My vet read the ingredients & said this was a good choice. She LOVES the taste. I mix it with plain yogurt to help her skin problems. I think it is a quality food and priced reasonably.
I have a five-year-old golden retriever with early onset, arthritis and hip dysplasia. She needed to take off some weight and this dog food has been really nice. It fills her up and I don't have to feed her as much of it. I like to add a little something into it, sometimes some low sodium broth or some baby carrots. I find that not only has she slim down a little bit, but she has more energy and her poops are more normal.
Our 145 lb Golden Pyrenees loves this stuff, but it is quite expensive compared to other brands like Old Roy. BUT we have to starve him to eat anything else! BUT he protects our premises out here in the boondocks and keeps the coyotes at bay. And he loves kids and don't bite strangers, just wags his tail and barks to let us know a stranger is here. WE keep him in our garage at night....definitely not a house dog. Luke has his own 1992 Chrysler Van that we chauffer him around. So maybe not so expensive considering our benefits.
My 8 year old sister spaniels are over-weight and my vet recommended that I feed them no other food than Purina healthy weight. one of my dogs lost two pounds in a month and the other lost 3 lbs. They both love the turkey flavor.
My senior dog was overweight %26 suffering from pancreatitis so the vet instructed us to give him a low fat diet. I decided to try this food due to the high protein content %26 he absolutely loves it!! Even better, he's lost 7 pounds %26 the vet was very pleased lol. Will definitely continue to purchase this dog food. Also comes very quickly with walmart's shipping :)
We started using ONE when it was first introduced into the market. We were so surprised to see a change in the decreased size of Muffin's stool. Her body absorbed and used most of what she ate. It wasn't loaded with byproducts; It had more chicken, lamb, liver, etc. depending on which one we bought. It's been approximately 34 years since we sampled this product, and we were so impressed that all these years later ONE is still our %231 food for our babies. You pay a little more for it, but our furbabies benefit from its outstanding high quality. I always look at the first ingredients listed. Notice the difference in ONE's ingredient list and other dog food's labels. It's an impressive nutritious dog food.
My sweet Pittie, Mollie, is not getting as much exercise while I am recovering from shoulder replacement surgery. Her regular diet was allowing her to gain weight. Almost 10 years old, 80 lbs, her joints and body and general health cannot justify more weight. She LOVES the kibble and I have had to adjust the amount I feed her. However, I also buy the wet food that is also weight management and give her 1/4 can at each meal. She is a happy eater AND I was able to put her collar back on! (It had become too tight from the lack of exercise.) I can't say enough good things about this food for an older and less active dog. However, so many of us Seniors with pets are finding it more difficult to feed our fur children. The prices continue to increase and our SS does not keep up with inflation. Also Vet visits are causing animals to be surrendered or dumped. That is almost a death sentence for our loving pets and increases depression in us Seniors. The food is great. Circumstances around the increasing prices is causing pain for people and their furry life companions. Perhaps y'all could take a leadership role in assisting the decisions we are having to make. Thank you!
My pittie loves this dog food! I have always fed him One dog food. He's 6 years old now and getting a little chunky around his belly so I thought I'd try this. Wow! Glad I did!
Have been feeding this to my GoldenDoodle for several months, my vet recommended the Purina Pro Plan ...tried it and my Dog preferred the Purina ONE over the ProPlan, so switched back! It's his choice after all! :-)
Tipsy the tubby beagle would tell you this food isn't great and she prefers the lamb and rice. She turned her nose up at it the first time we served it (at the vet's advice). But hunger pangs won and now she eats it without protest.
