We just started buying this two months ago. Our vet said both dogs could drop a few lbs. They both still love it as much as the regular food and I think they have lost some weight. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My breeder recommended Royal Canin from puppyhood - now my golden is 4 and was gaining weight so I switched BACK to RC weight management and he's back to his perfect healthy weight
I have a little Maltese who is now 11 and developed a tendency to put on a little weight. He is on weight care and it is working great. I feed my other young dog puppy dry food. They love it. The only problem is keeping from gulping it down so they can get to each other's bowl! :-)
My girl after trying many different brands finally has lost weight [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I've been using Royal Canin products for years. As my little guy has gotten older, he's put on a few pounds and his vet recommended Royal Canin Maxi Weight Care. My guy is a VERY picky eater but he absolutely loves this stuff! Unlike other weight control foods, he doesn't turn his nose up at it and walk away. Instead, he eagerly waits for his bowl to be put down and gobbles it up. So far, he's dropped 2 lbs in the past month, which is a fair amount for a Tibetan Spaniel mix. I'm absolutely pleased to use Royal Canin products. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I tried other good brands (Hill's, Purina, Iams). Without reaching for the more pricey veterinary therapeutic diets, this was the first dog food that started showing results. We cut out dog treats and increased exercise. Royal Canin was the first dog food where we followed the labeled recommendations and saw results. My fat girl has been successfully losing about 1% of her body weight per week. This is excellent, healthy weight loss. I am her veterinarian, and I now recommend this regimen to clients struggling with weight loss for their pets. We are excited to watch her return to her old, extremely energetic self! Yes, Royal Canin is a more expensive dog brand, but my dog's health is worth these results. Royal Canin is clearly doing their research to create dog foods for specific needs of individual pets.
At our vet's recommendation we tried this. She loves it! We cut back on her food per vet's advice, added a few carrots as treats and she is dropping the weight. Coincidence or not, her skin is not as dry.
My lab/boxer mix was VERY overweight weighing 80lbs at her heaviest! I simply changed her diet and started to feed according to the weight chart on the bag and in only 3-4 months she is down to 67 lbs and healthier than she has ever been! Losing the weight her activity level has increased 100%, she is so much happier and I know her hips are happy too! I wish I would of changed her diet sooner! This Royal Canin diet is amazing! Great product, it has helped my dog to keep her weight in line They need to improve on the quality of the bag sealer
My dog didnt like this... i think it was because the food is rancid.
