My chocolate lab started getting a lot of allergies as a puppy.. it started about 4-6 months old. First I had him on another brand and then my Vet suggested the royal canning special diet in the blue bag... we noticed a difference.. I bought that from the vets office.. we had issue getting a new supply so we tried the Labrador puppy bag and to our amazement his coat became shinny and his allergies went away. Since he has bred 15months and we switched him to adult Labrador royal cannon and his coat is beautiful and he is a very health dog.... most important the vet bills have gone down. After going through several foods for dogs with digestive issues, this product had been a life saver. I have fed Royal Canin for years to my West Highland Terriers and Yorkie. We adopted an adult 4 year old Labrador Retriever 8 weeks ago from our local Animal Shelter. He was in rough shape, riddled with fleas, dull drab coat, losing hair and about 10 lbs underweight. We brougt him home, treated him for the fleas and the skin infection that he had and started feeding Royal Canin (Labrador blend). Well, by our current pictures, he is a new boy. He loves his food, and manages to occasionally sneak some bits of the food meant for the others! He has a beautiful coat, healthy teeth, and a brilliant set of eyes. Thank you for great nutrition for our newest pack member! We are now at the point where we will have to increase his runs or put him on the treadmill!. All my pets, past and present (cats and dogs), have been fed RC from puppy or kitten. They all live (d) a long and happy life. Vet is super happy with their overall health. I have two lab retrievers, they go hunt, hike, boating, fishing, swimming etc in Montanas back country. They love their food and they get fed their meals, spread out over the day, while in training or working. They work for their meals. I found the perfect balance for their work/activity versus food intake and I never change it. I can only buy it online here in Montana but that's because I live in the back country. The labs get a pig ear everyday as an end of workday treat and no human food. They are happy, healthy and loving dogs
My lab has a super sensitive stomach, yet needs to maintain his weight. Since we switched to Royal Canin breed specific foods he has maintained his weight AND kept his food down! My vet even did a comparison for me and this product is better for my guy then any weight management plan. It's a relief for me to know his getting the nutrition he needs! My dogs love Royal Canin! They cannot get enough of this wonderful food. Starting them with the Labrador puppy and switching them to Labrador adult has been such a wonderful experience. I have watch them grow into such strong adults! They always have such silky and shiny coats. I love how the kibble is shaped specifically for them. I wouldn't feed them anything else!! Diego the chocolate lab was the best dog ever and he was a Royal Canin fan from a puppy until his adult years! He was actually getting sick from other brands as a pup and when we tried Royal Canin it was the best and he loved it for over 10 years! Sadly he passed away back in 2015. In his honor Id donate the bags of food to a local family with Labs or shelter in his memory. Your food always made his otter like tail wag. Loose stool, firmed up, better energy, and no longer irritable.
Unfortunately, did not work for us. The kibble is too big to dispense in our automatic feeder. Our lab hair started falling out in clumps and excessive dandruff he didn't have with food we which'd from.
