I did a lot of research on this scanner and was not disappointed. It takes all the work out of programming and many, many channels. Then you get to pick and choose which ones you want to listen to. Amazing
Watch YouTube video to help set up software pretty easy two steps.Love the scanner just ordered antenna for vehicle
the uniden home patrol scanner arrived sooner than expected, very easy to set up.
I got the unidentifiable home patrol about 1 year ago and just love it it programmed just by entering your zip code I get about 250 different channels. I get more channels on this little scanner than I did on my old programmable scanner.
Great little unit. Easy to setup and works well.
This is a terrific scanner. Its frequency list can be adjusted and maintained on your computer uploaded/downloaded to the scanner. You can keep multiple "favorite" lists. The display screen is awesome because it shows you the title/group/channel you're hearing and you can "lock on" or "avoid" very easily. You could scan a couple thousand frequencies, or just 100 - whatever your situation needs. Gone are the days of a scanner which only displays an obscure frequency with a tiny memory. You can also "record" to the included micro SD card and "replay" what you just heard. It also comes with a BNC antenna adapter. I hooked up a roof-mounted Discone antenna and can receive signals well out of my city (if desired). Unit does not come with AC charger. You need a USB-A to USB-mini-B and an adapter for 5 Volts, 1 Amp. The SELLER iSave did not advertise this as OPEN BOX which apparently it was. I received the unit in good order but the included batteries were just tossed in and exposed (Uniden would never package a radio like that). I think the recharge function works but I'm still trying to figure that out.
Nice unit. Kind of confusing to set up and block out areas that you are not interested in. I'm actually taking it to get programmed. But it is a nice unit... overpriced by 150 at the minimum.
Like everything about it...BUT...DMR channels by Moto...not picking up...software hopefully will upgrade the reception for DMR channels...love the ease and simplicity of running the scanner...need a little more feedback on what some of the items will do...had to download a manual...doesn't answer everything...sent comment to Uniden and haven't received answer yet...?
Sold by ISave through Walmart, I was sent a used unit. Very suspicious from the moment I opened the shipping box, and found not a new package, but one with some wear, and a defaced front - (see Picture) Apparently it had been sold and returned, and should have not been resold as new. The batteries were installed inside the unit when I received it, flat dead and would not take a charge. The touch screen appeared to have spit marks on it, the whole thing had been hastily repacked, without much care. I had to restore it to factory defaults, as it had been initiated and programmed for Florida ( I live in Michigan) After procuring a new set of rechargeable batteries, unprogramming and reprogramming the unit for P25 Phase 1 Digital, I found it scanned over 200 channels, while my town only has less than 10 active. If there was any activity, it took so long to scan through 200 channels you would miss it. I found the performance less than stellar, I suspect because my town has Simulcast and that can interfere with reception. I likely would have kept it had it been new, but I did not know if the performance was below my expectations because it was defective or just not a good radio. Obviously someone else was unhappy with it, and had returned it, so it probably should have been checked and sold as Factory Reconditioned at a reduced cost, not sold as Brand New for FULL PRICE!!! BEWARE of ISave - after reading the other reviews, it looks like there is a pattern with this company of selling and shipping used merchandise. I
I paid $450.11 for this piece of crap boat anchor it says punch your ZIP code in and your county and you're good to go bull crap I spent a week trying to program it then took it to someone that does these things like this you need a computer basically Wi-Fi I went with the Whistler ws1065 had it going in less than an hour over $200 cheaper sorry you didn't worst piece of crap you have come up with
