The table appears to be of excellent quality and all the features are of very strong construction. After reading many of the reviews regarding installation, I did not take a chance and hired an expert to assemble this table. It took him 2 hours so I have no idea how long it would have taken me. It was worth every penny. There are no apparent defects of any type on table. It was delivered very quickly and driver brought it down my long driveway and put it next to my garage. I have played six games on table and it works perfect. I would recommend this table.
Don't expect to put this pingpong table together in one night. I would suggest that before you attempt to assumble the table, read the instructions first, lay out all the pieces, so you can identify them as you begin to actually assumble and then follow the instructions carefully. The kit is actually super and assumbles really easy. My only real complaint was the way they packaged the screws, washers and nuts. All are layed out in plastic pockets and are numbered, but because of the way the package is put together, it's difficult to read the numbers, so you need to be very careful. You should also have a utility knife to cut the plastic pockets. Aside from the knift, the tools that come with the kit work just fine. I am totally happy with this table and am sure it will last for years to come. If you love pingpong and play a lot, this is diffiently a table you should invest in.
I don't actually have this table, but am employed in the table tennis industry so I keep up with products in the field. This looks like a solidly built table--1" laminated top with 1.5 inch square steel tube frame. The pistons are a nice extra that should help ease taking the table up and down--1" tops can often weigh well over 100 pounds. I'd get this table myself were it not for the poor net design. It's not a legal net as the posts are too close to the side of the table (the upright standards have to be 6" from the side of the table), the net is too short (should be 72" wide), and there is not adjustment string at the top of the net to adjust tension. And the structure for attaching the net posts to the table prevent you from using your own legal net on this table. I really hate it when a manufacturer ruins an otherwise good design by trying to save a few bucks by using a cheap non-legal net. As a consequence, this table can't be used in officially sanctioned table tennis tournaments. If the net doesn't bother you, this looks like an exceptional buy.
We were so disappointed after the good reviews. We were hoping to have it here for grandchildren's visit. It arrived damaged twice and was sent back twice. Then was unavailable online or in the store. No word if it will ever be available again -- perhaps for the holiday season next winter.
Receiving a table tennis table by freight carrier without damage seems to be impossible, and I was not disappointed in that respect. The cardboard shipping carton had been damaged and I had a couple of dings and dents on the playing surface. My main disapoointment was that one of the table leg sockets that received one of the wheeled castors, was crossthreaded and I could not insert the wheel. I called the Sportcraft support number - disconnected. I went to their website - it was deactivated. I finally went down and bought a tap and die set for $40 (well, I wanted one anyway), and re-threaded the socket, and it worked fine.
