I bought this for quick clean up and it's storage ability for our RV. It is perfect for the job.
I live in a Class A motor home full time. I travel and park where there is sand, rocks, dust, etc. And I tow a car. I bought this because I tried a friend's. It picks up the small rocks and sand in my car and is so easy to use without a cord getting in the way. I keep it in my rig on the charger (the blue stand) sitting in a plastic tub with the accessories ready to pick up and use frequently. I love the extension floor handle to use on the floor of my rig - got tired of sweeping with a broom everyday and still having gritty floors.
Works great, use it in my car, and small clean ups, battery has plenty of power, no its not a home vac, it's a portable vac, easy to clean
I did quite some research before purchasing this vacuum, after which my main concern was whether it is powerful enough even for some small tasks. There was only one review at walmart.com and it was given only one star. So for me it's a bet. Well, it turns out that this is a nice bet. Yes, it feels week when the floor head is attached but even so, it can easily pick up any lose items on wood floor or carpet, which I believe represent most cases in every house. With the crevice tool, it creates enough suction for any common items for cleaning. Building quality is excellent. The dust container is a bit small-you probably need to empty it after each use. Cleaning is easy, filter and container are washable. Buy a couple of extra filters in case you want to swap one during vacuuming-it's clogged up fast give its small size (but no obvious reduction of suction). Run time is at least 10 minutes on each charge. if you have extra cash, consider the BDH2020FLFH model, although I guess their performance would be similar. Hope this review helps. Happy vacuuming!
I Bought this a month ago now and I love the ease and convience. Suction is better than I expected and so is the battery life. For a quick pick up hardwood floors and my carpets it's what I wanted and a great price. The only issues is that it picks so so good that I find myself having to clean the filter every other time.
Easy to use and flexible. Perfect for the car as it gets in tight spaces easily. Great for quick pick ups in the house.
I would give this vacuum 5 Stars if there would be a possibility to replace the Battery. Mine died after 1.5 years. Now I can throw it away and get a new one. The machine itself works great. Strong suction and very handy. Only the on/off button goes a little heavy. All together a great vacuum. But please develop it with a replaceable battery.
I have owned two of these vacuums within the last three years. The first one worked beautifully for 6 months and then would not hold a charge for more than a few seconds. I called B & D to ask about replacement batteries. They do not make replacement batteries. Since it was still under warranty, they sent me a new unit. Great customer service. The second unit also worked great for about two years and then the batteries stopped charging. Since it is out of warranty, and there are no replacement batteries, I had no choice but to toss it. Too bad for me. Too bad for B & D. I won't buy another one. I bought a corded hand vac by Shark so I don't have any battery issues. If you want this vacuum, I would buy the extended warranty.
This vacuum works for 5 minutes, than you have to recharge it for 22 hours. Then works again for 5 minutes and then you recharge again for 22 hours. So, you better have time in your hands and it may take you a full month, maybe two to vacuum one couch, or undust some blinds or something. It is a engineering mistake and the worst thing I have ever come across.
Bought one this year and it did the job well enough for a small vacuum. Then one day I put it on the charger and the charging light started blinking wildly. Took it off, turned it on and it died after a few seconds. Put it back on the charger and nothing. I took it apart enough to verify that the batteries are fully charged and that the base is putting out the 12V DC ( the reason for the slow charge?). So it must be the little electronic board that's shot. Not happy.
