I bought this blender 3 years ago when it first came out and it was $25.00 cheaper. I dont know about the other reviews and complaints, but this works great for making a large amount of frozen drinks at parties or during those hot summers. Those who are complaining about the size, I can't understand because you are getting an 80 oz blend station along with 2 16oz stations. Its either you want a little or a lot. Anyway if I do have one complaint, it is that the contents don't flow as easily as with the smaller wave stations do. You have to tip the blender on its dispenser side a little to get the rest of the contents out, but overall, I have used this for 3 years and still am using it well today.
I bought this for my husband's birthday. He loves it and the ease of using it.
Blends ice better then the more expensive models. Great for making smoothies. Also love the large blender container. Highly recommend!
With a newborn in the house and a dire need for the caffeinated beverage that my husband makes---we needed a blender that produced a higher volume of product with less mess and less time than making it twice. It is easy to use, blends the mixture smooth in a few seconds, and cleans well. We are very happy with this blender and would highly recommend it! A+
Bought it as a gift for my dtr. who said she was amazed at how well it performed chopping ice so evenly for a "smoothie". She also thought having the ability to use the individual blending cups was great for those recipes that require partially blended components. I would have preferred more "speed" options for the price, but overall it seems to be a good piece of kitchen equipment for those who enjoy cooking.
I only have two small complaints, the single serving cups dont hold as much as I would like, but they are very doable. Second would be that I cant get the bottom of one of the single cups since I purchased it. Otherwise it was perfect for what I need.
I read many reviews before purchasing this blender. The prevailing review seemed to be that it worked great if used per the directions. Well, I followed the directions, took advice from other reviewers to make sure I ran the blender long enough, and I still cannot get the ice to blend into the texture that the smoothie places achieve. As far as I know, their machines are 1000 watt, as well, but for some reason they break down the ice differently. Overall, I would say that I don't feel it works any better than a blender half the price. I have not tried using the full blender container; only the individual ones. So it's possible that the larger container works better, but somehow I doubt it. I am still debating whether I am keeping the blender or not.
The first one I bought was for a wedding gift. The couple tells me it is fantastic; and that they have had no problems with the containers being plastic...no cracks or splits at all with their heavy use of the item. This second one is also for a (late October) wedding gift. I trust that they will have a high appreciation for the blender too.
The issues we have with this particular blender are the containers and the sizes. The individual cups do not make enough all at one time for a family larger than 2. In order for the bigger container to make enough for a family of 4, you have to make enough for 8 or more in order for the blades to be covered enough to blend stuff together. It ends up being wasteful and even then the blades don't chop/blend within the 30 seconds it boasts. It's also big and bulky and not easily stored in regular cupboards. Because of these issues we very rarely use it. I would not buy this blender again nor would I recommend it.
