I have never seen rutabagas this large and I am a farmer's daughter from Illinois. One will be a meal.
Having purchased twice, my experience has been positive. They are pricey but have always been good sized. I don't think they're an item that flies off the shelf. For this reason, they may often not be fresh and it isn't easy to tell one way or another. by
Excellent rutabagas. A good source of vitamins. Love this cooked and mashed with butter and a bit of salt.
They are expensive but they are huge and in keto or low carb they are a heavensent. they are great many ways fried on medium low heat. boiled and mashed.. Just yummy .. They are Allison covered in wax that you can peel off with skin to keep fresh longer.
They were $1.24 each.. most of them were small..and one of them was soft/mushy. Pick them yourself, don't use pickup.
I don't think it was a rutabaga I received from a pick-up order but whatever was received was mushy, shriveled up, and completely covered in a light dusting of slimy mold. Who the heck would put that thing in a customer's order?
I am sending a picture of what I found when I put my groceries away from pick up this morning. I have no idea what it is…all dried up! Not fit to even bother cooking. Whoever does the Walmart shopping for pickup orders needs to do a better job than this.
The item looked like a rotten half was cut off and scarred over. which is rotten as far as rutabagas go! Rotten when cut open!
Not Rutabaga.
looks like it was cut in half to get rid of a bad spot, no way was it worth 2.98 i was charged.
