I usually use a tile saw but I was looking for something I could use in my kitchen where I was working and not have to go to the garage to make cuts. I was very disappointed in this product. I just could not get the hang of it, even watched some youtube videos but I just kept breaking tile after tile (ceramic subway tile). After several tries, I just got my tile saw out and took care of business. I don't really see how anyone could make any precision cuts with this thing.
If you plan to cut one tile this is a wonderful tool, but after cutting one tile forget it. Because after using it it just got worse, worse and worse. I examined the device and found it was the metal the base was made of, it deformed immediately and created a platform that was contorted. And then the blade could not properly score the tile nor set up the breaking bar to apply pressure. So until the body of the device is made of stronger more stable material that can take the pressure and strain. I would not advise anyone to purchase this item. I purchased a competitors item of similar design for a few dollars more and it worked fine because it didn't have any of the design weaknesses or flaws of this one.
