I have a couple of grape vines outside and when they first stating growing this year they were fine. Then I noticed the leaves were getting holes in them and it looked like pieces of the leaf bitten off. Then I found the culprits there were spider mites and aphids everywhere. I don't like pesticides so when I saw this was made from botanical extracts I decided to give it a try. It did work well and smells amazing but then after I got it we had a frost and all of my leaves fells off on the larger vine but the younger vine is fine. I like that it came in a 32 fl. oz ready and easy-to-use bottle.
This last summers garden has had an interesting amount of bugs (aphids and spider mites) and my sister and I used many many products, but the aphids and spider mites were relentless!!! When I moved my plant inside in an effort to save it from the cold, those aphids and spider mites were all over inside my place AND still all over the 2 herb plants that I kept. I spraying Bonide spray around the outside planter (I don't want chemicals in the soil) and to my surprise, it worked!!! I'm very happy with this Bonide spray and will continue to use it this summer and see if it works on the eggplants!!! You won't be disappointed!!!
I am so glad I tried this. We decided to grow tomatoes for the first time ever. And it was a whirl wind. I noticed we were getting these black specks all over the plants. It took me almost 2 weeks to realize they were bugs. After extensive google searching we discovered they were aphids. I was terrified of losing our plants we grew for 6 months and still haven't ate off of yet. This product saved them. It kills all the aphids on contact. And can kill a few other serious plant insects as well. And it keeps working until the next rain. Once it started being applied we never seen another aphid on the plant again. Now they're huge, healthy, and beautiful looking plants. I'm so glad I tried it and it worked.
I am a believer in using organic products to control insects and diseases in my gardens. I have a raised bed garden and a grow bag garden. The Mite-X product fits right into my garden plant treatment routine, and I regularly use Bonide products in that routine. My winter garden is growing quite well, and I use Mite-X to control aphids, which are a big problem in FL even in our "winter". I would recommend Mite-X to any gardener looking to avoid toxic chemicals for their produce.
I have been attempting to start a garden of small fruits and veggies as well as herbs. I wanted to do this as organically as possible. I was not expecting when you grow fruits and veggies, the insects will come. As it's food for them right in the open. Before using I checked out the ingredients list: cottonseed, Clove and garlic oil are the active ingredients. Making this safe to use on the foods I'm growing for consumption. I noticed muted on my bell peppers and aphids on my lemon tree. I do a few sprays, come back later and it's done. The smell is pleasant and bottle sizing is generous. This is a great organic solution to garden pest.
It was almost out of the plant season here but I did use this to ward off mites before I brought my plants inside. I can say it is a reasonable size spray bottle and the smell is tolerable. I am surely gonna add this to my household. It can be used indoor or outdoors.
The bottle spray comes out very well in covering the plants; it's easy to hold onto and doesn't make my hand sore. I like also that it comes in a stream spray and a more broad spray so that I can get good coverage on the larger plants I have; at this point I have used it on my aloe plant and sometimes I get those dang little bugs in the house and have not seen one bug since spraying the aloe plant; this will be a lifesaver for my rose bushes and lupines which tend to get bug damage after first bloom (lupines). I am happy about it being able to be turned "off" so you don't accidentally pick it up and spray something, but I do wish they would put the X, or the "stream" in a different color than the nozzle to make it easier to see.
This spray is essential oil based, and smells like cloves or garlic, because those are a couple of the active ingredients. It's supposed to be good for indoor and outdoor use, but as it's a ready made bottle you probably won't be able to control an infestation taking over your entire garden with a single bottle. I would recommend spraying this in the evening when the beneficial bugs aren't out, and giving it time to dry before the sun comes up. Your plant will probably require a few different treatments, and if so it would be best to change up the pesticide you're using so that the bugs don't develop a resistance against this spray, but if this is all you've got it's certainly better than nothing. If you're going to use other sprays too make sure you don't use one with sulfur as one of the main ingredients as it's possible to kill your plant with a combination of sulfur and oils.
This product worked for me to get rid of mites on house plants. However the leaves turned yellow and fell off. I think I sprayed too much though. The plants are fine but the leaves that turned yellow dried up and died as did the mites. Maybe I used too much I don't know but the bugs are gone. For the minimal leaf loss it was a good trade off for me. I would and will use it again just maybe a ighter spray.
