Quiet running and crisp print. Excellent product. I use it everyday in our homeschool.
I recieved the printer very quickly and the set up was easy the directions easy to understand it prints quickly and is very quiet compared to other printers I have used in the past they also included a disc in case I had windows seven.
I'm pretty satisfied with this product! Speed, quality of printing and noise are exceptional! A little big for a small office desk, but a good option (and price) for a laser printer!
I bought this printer at a very good price, and now have printed some 400 pages with it. Operation and quality has been flawless. FYI, after the unit powers up, if you rapidly press the power button three times, the printer will print out a sheet of info, including how many pages you've printed so far. Useful information.
I haven't had this printer for a very long time but it is doing a really good job providing basic black and white printing of good quality. It is fairly quiet and the speed is just fine for my needs. It was simple to install with my Vista software. I am very satisfied with this product for the price.
I use it all the time and it performs flawlessly. I print labels and the back side of pages through the direct feed slot. I've had my HL-2140 for 7 months and I'm very glad I switched from ink jet to laser. If you only need B&W this is an excellent machine.
I've found that this little printer is the most economical and reliable B&W printer around. For text files, this printer is always ready to print and the somewhat large paper feeder tray holds a lot of 8 1/2 x 11 or 14 sheets. Never have to worry about print fading in the middle of a document like I do with the inkjet printer.
I needed a laser printer and not one that was a copier, fax or anything else. It was easy to set up and works perfectly.
I've had this printer for years along with 2 other brands that both stopped working a while ago while the 2140 keeps pushing. This printer is as reliable as it gets. I'll probably only buy brother from now on.
I have 2 HL=2140 printers. Bought one Sept.'09 and liked it and bought one more Jan.'10. The Sept.'09 machine started putting vertical black streaks on the printed page in April '10. I called Brother Customer Service on May,1'10 and was stepped through troubleshooting and we diagnosed a bad drum causing the streaks. I was told that the DRUM is an accessory and the warranty is 90 days. NO warranty on the most expensive part in the printer. Everything in the printer other than the drum only exists to serve the DRUM which does the printing and Brother calls the DRUM the accessory. I think it is a corrupt way for Brother to abdicate their warranty obligation on this printer. Warrantys usually predict the quality of a product. Long strong warranty means a good product, short restricted warranty usually means a troublesome product. The warranty on the HL-2140 is useless. I have my fingers crossed every time I use my remaining HL-2140
