I upgraded to this phone from my Mesmerize and I can't tell you the amazing difference there is! Its twice if not triple as fast as my Mesmerize! My mez was super slow near the end of its life...but I had a lot of stuff on there to but still I dont remember it as fast as this phone even when my mez was brand new! It has superior HD quality...the screen is nice and big which I LOVE! The camera and video are excellent quality and having a front faced camera is a wonderful upgrade! There are so many other amazing features I cant list them all but the best thing about this phone is the screen resolution is CRYSTAL CLEAR!! I truly have NO complaints about this phone! The only small drawback is the price tag on this phone is way high compared to other carriers....and its not 4g. Ive read reviews from people rating this phone down simply bc of the 4g issue and price....the price I can understand but as far as Im concerned not having a 4g phone is no big deal to me bc Im always running Wi-Fi every chance I get. This in my opinion is U.S. Cellulars BEST phone they have right now beating out the Electrify which I tried for a short period and wasn't all that impressed! If your a Samsung fan....this phone is for you!
Haters going to hate, but I have had the electrify, the merge and the desire and this is by far the fastest, lightest and best screen out of all of them. Yeah its not 4g but really we act like without 4g we all will suffer painful deaths. If you are looking for a solid and advanced phone, go with this guy.
I think this phone is simply amazing. I upgraded from the desire (which I thought I loved) and I'm not looking back. This phone is fast, sleek, and has a gorgeous display. The battery life is much better than the Desire, but could be better. It was worth every penny. I was worried because I purchased the Samsung Acclaim previously and hated it. I have never been a fan of Samsung and was hesitant because I have never liked a Samsung product previously. I am so glad I did not let that stop me from purchasing this incredible device. Buying this on March 1st when it was released was the best move I've made. Thank you so much US Cellular!!! Now officially part of the happiest customers in wireless.
Just got one of the first Galaxy SII phones from U.S. Cellular the other day. Have been playing with it for a while now and this phone never ceases to amaze me. The screen is SO VIBRANT! The brightness all the way down is still more vivid than my old HTC Desire with the brightness maxed out. I've loaded up a ton of apps on the thing, no problems with any and there is still a lot of room for more! It is incredibly fast. I haven't had to wait for anything on this phone (unless network related) yet. All in all I'm a very happy camper, I know this phone is at least 6-months old, if you count international versions it's older, but I think it will still be a great phone in the year and a half I'll be stuck with it. Especially when you consider how long it takes US Cellular to get good new phones. Just thought I would throw my $.02 in. Hope this helps! :)
I've owned this phone for almost a month now and I have to say this thing is a BEAST! The big screen is nice and bright, contrast is crisp, blacks are dark and absolute. The size of the phone feels just right in your hand. It is stable, fast and has tons of features that will let you do anything you want with it. Gorilla Glass will ensure your screen will be ok for light drops and scratches. The construction is solid. Camera, both front and back are very nice. The 8MP camera gives you some amazing shots so you can leave your clunky camera at home. Call quality is great, even with the included stereo ear buds. I did get about 8 hours of battery when I first got it but a factory reset brought my average up to 15 hours. I now get 12 hours and up to 28 hours on a battery depending on signal strength and usage. Get this phone! You won't be disappointed!
I had to get this phone. No if's, and's, or but's about it. Fantastic! I'm sure I was the first one, in the Western 1/2 of Iowa to get it too. Except for a few store employees maybe? I have owned, the Desire, the Samsung Galaxy S Mesmerize, the Moto Electrify, and now this Samsung Galaxy S II. With this phone now, It's like having 3.5G data speeds. It's all I expected, and more! It's running SUPER Fast & smooth. My biggest surprise has been, how much faster web pages load. How fast Apps download, and or update too. Thinking this whole time before, that 3G data speeds, or my Wi-Fi connection was the limiting factor. It is not. Has the phone name 'Lightning' taken? : - )
So I finally broke down and upgraded from my desire. My desire was rooted, overclocked running cyanogenmod 7.1 with a 2gb sd partition. So needless to say my old phone was no slouch, so I thought. The gs2 is an amazing phone and can really multi-task like no other.. Super fun phone to use and every game I play looks amazing. I currently writing this review while listening to music and flipping between another Web Page and it shows no lag.. My only complaint so far is the speaker does not seem to be as loud as what the desire had.. Just my a shade though. Amazing battery life is also a huge plus.. I use my phone alot during the day and this phone will pull out 16hrs of battery life with heavy use and still have 30-40% battery left to boot. Not having 4g was just about a deal breaker for me but glad I got. It. Really hope us cellular pushes out the ice cream sandwich update in a timely manner. Run out and get one and put it through its paces for 30 day.. Bet you don't take. It back :-)
I exchanged my Motorola Electrify for the Samsung Galaxy SII and have never looked back! It is blazing fast! The 1.2 GH processors can't be beat. As far as style you would be hard pressed to beat this device for size, screen display quality, and weight. I had a HTC Desire and upgraded to the Electrify, but when this "beast" came out I had to try it! It has the same or better signal quality as the Electrify with better 3G capabilities in my opinion. And the camera is a thing of wonder! This phone has a short learning curve to access all of the features to be had on it. So go out and get yours today! What are you waiting on?
Got this phone the day it came out and lemme tell ya, it's amazing! The Screen is absoulutly stunning....Don't believe me, than you need to go to your local USCell store and check it out for yourself. I will say, Us Cellular was late with this phone but it is still a powerhouse. I'd rather have a top of the line 3G S2 than a base model 4G with bugs when it comes out. Than after this phone i can get the S3 when she comes out. Battery is better than Mesmerize but nothing to write home about. But thats basically half of the phones out there. Buy another battery if your that worried about it. The back piece is the only part thats flimsy and when it's snapped on you cant even tell. The screen clarity is stunning! As is the 8 MP Camera! Have no complaints so far. If your looking for 4G, wait till it's out for awhile so they get the bugs outt've it and go get the S2! You wont be dissapointed!
I've had this phone since May of 2012. It was my first smartphone with room enough for all of the apps that I want. If you have a basic knowledge of the Android operating system, this phone will be easy to learn. I really like that I can turn it face down to mute and tilt it to enlarge photos that I'm viewing! This is a lightweight, attractive phone and for me has excellent reception. I've never dropped a call. I'd recommend this phone to anyone from a beginning smartphone user to a much more experienced user. You will not be disappointed! ~U.S. Cellular Customer Crew member~
