[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As I was ending a project couple of months ago, missed place my tape measure. Purchased the 30ft Powerlock, and it has totally changed my perspective on tape measures. I can not believe I've gone all these years without this tool. Thank you Stanley, for making such a great tape measure!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had Stanley Powerlocks for years. I've had this 30' for about 5 years now. It works perfect every time. The only reason I ever need to replace them is because I have left them in the rain or nicked an edge with a tool.
Excellent product had one for 15 years and decided i needed a new one.
This tape measure originally belonged to my father in-law, who had it strapped to his hip everyday for years as he built beautiful custom homes throughout Michigan. When he passed away, it was passed down to me, and is now on my hip as my wife and I renovate our first home together. This tape measure is reliable, well-built, and has withstood the test of time. Highly recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I've been a Builder/Remodeler for nearly 40 years and have owned and used hundreds of Stanley products. When I think of Stanley I think of tape measures. These are simply the best tape measures on the market today. They are extremely durable, ergonomically designed and very reasonably priced. Stanley offers a large selection of styles and sizes to accommodate the needs of most everyone from the Do It Yourselfer to the Builder. Why settle for less and pay more by purchasing another brand of tape measure? Stanley measures up offering both Quality and Value with their products. I got this tape measure to replace a Craftsman one which had broke after one year. So far this tape operates very smooth. If it lasts as long as my other Stanley tape (40+ years) I would be very impressed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this about 25 years ago to upgrade from my Stanley's 20 ft tape I bought over 40 years ago which I don't see in you selections. I like Stanley for my reasons: S turdy and reliable T ruly tested A nd N ew product introductions L oyal customers and employees E xcellent expectations in their products Y our company to help you in your projects [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have had this Stantely tape measure for many years it was either my dads or my father in laws it was given to me years ago. Both were in construction. Neither one is with us any more so I don't use it much just keep it on my tool box for remembering.
The last two powerlock measuring tapes I bought failed miserably. The first became twisted on the first few inches making it impossible to use. This happened the second time I used. I purchased a new tape and used being very careful and gentle with it. This lasted one day. Not sure how, but it got twisted at about the 8 inch mark, making it again very hard if not impossible to use. I am very surprised because I have used Stanley's tapes my entire carrier and I never had this problem before. Whatever they have done with the tape is not working.
I have worked in the construction industry for 30 yrs. I have always used the classic Stanley 30 ft tape measure. In the last 6 months I have purchased 4 brand new tapes. Everyone of them has developed a twist after 2 weeks that won't allow it to stand out more than 3'. It also develops an arc in the first 2' of the blade that will not allow the tape to stay hooked as you measure longer materials. I bought one for my employee as well. The 2 tapes have almost 1/16" difference in them which makes it difficult for precise cutting of fine trims and crowns. Extremely disappointed with my old stand by brand. I will be shopping for a new brand
