I just puchased my 1034D serger 3 weeks ago and just finished making Roman Shades for my kitchen. How wonderful it was to use this serger. Previously I had another companies serger and just to thread that machine was a nightmare! The 1034D is a dreamboat when it comes to threading. I takes me less than a minute. Brother has put a lot of thought into this machine and in doing that, made this machine so very easy to use. I finished the shades in less than a week and they look great. If I had not purchased this 1034D and had used my other serger - well, I would never dream of doing Roman Shades and if I did, it would have taken me weeks to complete. Kudos to Brother for making a GREAT machine that is easy and fun to use.
This machine is super easy to use. I had a rush project to get done for a client presentation and I had to learn this machine in less than a week. I used a beginner craftsy class and the manual and just went for it and the results were super cute. I later added a grommet and put them on a large ring for display in the store. Customers could then flip through and pick a desired style.
I love the machine and work on it when I can.I use it on my off days .
For years I was so intimidated by sergers. I've only been sewing for about a year and a half with my Brother sewing machine. I finally decided to get a serger for my birthday in January, and I'm so glad I did! So far I've made an apron for one daughter and pajama bottoms for another daughter and going to start an apron for my other daughter. The finish looks so professional and straight! I'm still learning to sew and all my projects seem to have boo boos, but with the serger, they don't show up as much, since the seam allowance is cut off.
I've been sewing for over 50 years. I've always wanted a serger, my husband and son bought one. Wasn't sure if I would like it, my sewing machine is a vintage Bernina, which I love. Got the machine at Christmas, but didn't use it until April--because my son had to complete his Eagle Scout project. Thank you, thank you: the machine was perfect! Quick, easy, sews like a dream! My son made Eagle, we loved the project results--and I tell everyone interested about this machine. Do yourself a favor, invest in the Brother 1034D. I cannot wait to sew again!
Haven't had it too long but so far it's the best. I thought the threading would be hard to do but it's pretty easy. Can't wait to do some more projects. Here's my first. Great purchase!
This is a great machine; they designed this one so that the thread tension would be perfect. I really like it.
I am a newbie to serging. I love my 1034D overlock machine. It makes projects go so much quicker. It is really fun to use. I wish the DVDs that came with the machine were more up-to-date.
I'm still learning how to use, I would strongly recommend making NEW teaching videos...these are really old. Also need discs that will work on Apple computers
Opened it %26 in less than 3 hours it just completely stopped sewing. connections were good, light turned on, would not sew and left me hanging in the middle of 15 Christmas prijects i had bought it for. Was "sew" disappointing. I've loved my Brother products in the past, but this one was garbage.
