I host a radio show and create promos for the station and this mic is incredible. I have previously used a Razer Siren Mini and although both are cardioid mics, this one seems to have better sound quality. I love the stand and the versatility. I look forward to using this in other ways in the future.
Let me just start off by saying I am not a professional audio engineer and I just got into audio editing recently for the purpose of podcast and video content. So as far as the technical side of the audio goes I may not have the most in-depth review, but I will be leaving this review as a content creator who is just getting started and has a little bit of knowledge of other microphones. Until this point I had been using a rode mic that clips on to my dslr, which left me with pretty noisy audio. Sometimes I would use Mike pack Mike's which had a lot of static and interference. Getting this microphone was an absolute upgrade and made my process so much easier and the quality of my final product so much higher! I found this this microphone was incredibly easy to use and came with so many different accessories to make using it even simpler. The quality of the microphone is great and the sound I get off of it is nice and clean, my brother who works in audio production even looked it over and said that he thinks it's a great mic!
As a vocalist who needs a sturdy and reliable microphone for rehearsals and performances, the Audio-Technica ATR2100x-USB is versatile, as it comes with a USB-A, USB-C, and XLR cable output. XLR cable makes this usable for PA systems and performances on professional musical equipment. I also use this for podcast recording with its USB outputs. Good quality and durable.
This isn't so much a "microphone with USB" as it is a digital audio interface housed in a microphone. (And it's one that goes to 192 KHz 24 bit!) That being said, this mic and the accessories that come with it are all you need to sound good on your podcast, or on Zoom, as the sound you'll get is much, much better than that little omnidirectonal mic on your laptop or other device. All the cables you could possibly need come with the mic: Two USB cables (USB A to C, and USB C to C), plus an XLR cable in case you need to make an analog connection to a audio interface or mixer. And there's even a handy little desktop stand that you can place the mic and its supplied stand adapter on. The mic itself is very solidly built. Connecting the mic to my laptop and getting it working was easy, -in Windows no driver needs to be installed and it appears in Windows as another audio device that applications can access. You can monitor yourself while recording (or hear playback) through the headphone jack built into the mic. Sound wise it has maybe a bit more of a "presence boost" than your typical mic of this type (such as an SM-58 or Beta 58) but that really helps your voice to cut through online. A couple of minor quibbles: The mic is described as "hand held", but I found that it picks up a tad more handling noise than you might like. I'd suggest keeping it on a stand in a shock mount, although the mic body is tad on the thick side, so finding a suitable one might be a problem. When you have both a USB cable and headphone cord plugged in while the mic is in use it's hard to get to the headphone volume control that's on the mic in between those connections. But you can control your monitor volume from your computer, so that's not so much of a problem. And finally, the stand adapter doesn't have the usual threaded metal insert inside, and where the adapter threads onto the desktop stand is also plastic, so those parts might wear out quickly. I'm using a quick disconnect fitting on both the mic adapter and the stand so I don't have to worry about that. Other than those few criticisms, this is the mic you need to sound good online. And that doesn't mean it's not suitable for other uses, such as recording. I received this as part of a sample program.
I have used this product for a week now. It's very impressive! Easy to install and use, I was able to verify with myself and my friends that the sound quality is very clear. One downside is that you may need a noise filter/pop filter as it does capture quite a bit of ambient noise such as a ceiling fan. However, if you're using a program like discord, it's very easy to manually eliminate the extra noise in settings.
I received this product as part of a free sample program and let me say this came right on time for what my creative/business needs!!!! Set up is basically just plug and play/go . My audio was beyond standard and it made my Amp Dj session and streams sound much more legit ! Only used a few time so far but I'd say if you want a good option that isn't crazy expensive this is your choice. I'm in love
I love the microphone itself because it is able to pick up my voice clearly and not the sound around me. I have used this in calls and to record presentations and have had clear audio each time. My one issue with it is that the stand is a bit short and not very sturdy. Given the size and weight of the microphone the stand could of been a little bigger and stronger.
This is a great starter podcasting/streaming mic. The one thing you need to know is with dynamic mics, the mic needs to be about 2 inches from your mouth for the best volume/clarity. There are some noises from movement but with a proper stand/boom with shock mount, you'd eliminate that. I love that it can connect to an interface, be used live in performing, or just a desktop mic. You can trust that this is an easy to use device and installs instantly with plug and play usb.
This is my first podcast microphone. It is your standard mic with all the basic connectors and more! It has XLR so it could be used on stage or for any XLR application into a mixer. It also has USB C which is what I use it for my podcast to connect to my computer. The voice clarity is fantastic. It's crystal clear and I have not had any audio issues.
In the past, I've been using an old school microphone that gets the job done, but sounds terrible lol. This was the upgrade that I needed. I like how they give you multiple plug in options. From the little that I have recorded so far, it sounded phenomenal, super crisp and clean with very little static. Personally I would prefer a better quality stand, but so far no issue. It's a good buy. I would recommend especially if you're still using an old school mic like I was lol
