This set is gray instead of the usual white that most sets include which is great. It includes 4 gray doorknob covers, 12 gray cabinet and drawer latches, and 30 clear plug protectors. The doorknob covers and latches are a medium gray color and the plug protectors are clear and thin which makes it blend in so kids are less likely to try to pull them off. The whole set is easy to install and is sturdy. I have 3 young boys and this helps me keep the kids out of rooms, cupboards and plugs safely.
This baby proofing set from Safety 1st really blended in to our home. We have an agreeable grey paint on our walls and white trim and doors. I had a hard time prying the knob covers apart. I must not have the hand strength because I used a butter knife to pop one contact point out then twisted to release the others. The clear outlet protectors are nice because I can still remind the kids that we don't touch those and have them look similar to what they see at a business or house that doesn't baby proof. Finally, I do like that this set came with plenty of cabinet locks but it was definitely too many for our needs. I lock up cleaners and bathroom products but leave all non breakable containers, pots and pans, cutting boards, etc. open to them to play and create.
We now have our third child who is just about to start crawling. We have used this set to replace the plug covers, door covers and cabinet locks that have broken or disappeared over the last 3 years. These are essential to keeping babies and toddlers from getting into things they shouldn't or escaping. I've noticed the plug covers are crystal clear. I can't decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Aesthetically they look great but they are so clear I don't see them and keep trying to put one in the outlet, only to get there and see something is already there.
I have an adventurous child who likes to be independent. He's so quick and smart so the Safety 1st Decor Safety Essentials Set is a must in my home. I have the security in knowing the doors a childproof and ALL my outlets. The grey color goes nicely in my home because I have alot of white and grey. The door latches are fantastic for my kitchen too! I had enough to spare for my bathroom.
This is a great product for any mom with children at any age kids are very adventurous in finding out what things are and this kit keeps a lot of the hazards just out of reach. Keeps plugs covered, keeps door knobs in able to turn by their little hands and keeps drawers and cabinets from being opened.
This safety set is awesome for getting the house ready for baby and toddler. It has all the must have baby proofing items you will need. I love how the outlet covers are clear, making them barley noticeable so they look nice around the house. I also love how the cabinet locks and door handles are a modern grey color and are a breeze to install. The cabinet drawer locks are fantastic because our baby can't open them but adults can quickly and easy get them open without frustration and they aren't seen when the drawers are closed. We love the door handles covers so we don't have to worry about our toddler leaving the house or opening the door to let our cats outside and they are convenient for us to open the door not taking any extra time. There are long cabinet locks that don't need to be installed that work for multiple types of cabinets handles; we have one on our TV stand cabinet and bathrooms. A great set!
This is a great set of safety essentials! It has everything you need to baby proof. I've actually never seen the door handle covers before, this is huge for me as my 2 year old's bedroom is on the second floor and she just learned how to use a handle so keeping her in her room has been a battle at night. This has definitely slowed her down, it's not as much fun anymore. The latches are easy to install, I did them myself and the outlet covers are so easy yet so important!
This set is a must-have! It would make a perfect baby shower gift. I like the grey color of the knob covers and latches. The clear plug protectors are nice and discrete. But they are a little tricky to take off (which is good for kids, a little annoying for adults).
This kit has 46 pcs which is a good quantity but the quality of the plastic specially the door knob cover and drawer and cabinet locks is very cheap and non durable. The outlet protectors are one of the best thing for me because it is easy to put and of good quality. I give this kit to my sister because she has a 11 month old boy who is now a days trying to put his fingers in the outlets and take out all the stuff from kitchen cabinets. She was very happy with the kit and she put the outlet covers and door knobs and now she is feeling safe and secure. But cabinet locks are little bit tricky to put on and takes time. All over its a good kit to protect your toddler from dangerous accidents specially from the open sockets. I will recommend this to my family and friends.
There are several things good about all of these safety products but one, the thing that goes on the door knob. I couldn't open the door and my 8 year old grandson couldn't open the door and I felt like in the event of a fire this was not a good idea. I removed it off the door knob. That was my only issue but I felt it was a valid one.
