Great Printer Copier and Scanner. After trying to get an HP printer to work, only to have the tech support tell me I need to buy a new computer, we tried this Epson. Excellent scan quality and easy to use software. Inexpensive ink cartridges to boot! Now we have a printer that will work with our Windows 2000 machine, our XP machine, and when we finally upgrade, Vista (or Mac!). Good Job Epson!
I love this printer, copier, scanner. I have used it to make copies so I do not have to go to a copy store. It makes great copies. Print quailty is excellent. I would recommend this printer to anyone looking for a great printer, copier, scanner at a great price
I upgraded our home computer and found that my old printer wasn't compatable without an adapter cable. As I looked for cables I found this all-in-one printer for a great price. It had more features than my old printer and I've found it to be very easy to use. I also own a Photo R1800 and can highly recommend any Epson printer as a great value!
My Epson All-In-One printer is a great value to me. It was easy to do the initial install and use, and reliable. I'm very impressed with the support staff. I use it mainly for printing. A few months ago my brother was in town and used it for scanning in various pictures. It was surprising easy to use and I was extremely glad that I had this unit. Back in May I had an issue with my original printer, but was very pleased when they sent me out a new replacement. The support people were very professional and helpful. Thank you.
This printer does a good job on scanning, printing, faxing, etc. It is a bit noisy on uptake of paper but works efficiently and generally feeds paper quite well, with only a few jams that are easily fixed. Seems to use a lot of ink for the number of pages printed. Generally a good Epson, and better than some of their newer, more complex models.
The qualiuty of printing from this printer is very good, but the cartigaes need to be replaced about every month. I do not print photos or other large color usage documents; just standard print jobs. The cartigaes are not expense but over a years' time, it may break the bank if you can't afford to purchase them each month.
I acquired the 7400 as a replacement for the CX6600 from Best Buy through their warranty program. I loved the CX6600 after almost three years of daily heavy use. I strongly dislike the 7400. The 7400 has less functionality than the 6600 and uses different ink cartridges (so I'm stuck with the cartridges for the 6600). The paper jams so often on the 7400 I have stopped using it to print important documents and have assigned the machine to use almost exclusively as a quicky scanner and passable copier.
I bought this Epson printer because of the separate ink cartridges. I do alot of printing and was tired of throwing out cartridges that had run out of one ink color, but I have been very disappointed that the Epson doesn't run a cartridge out of ink but decides when its empty and will no longer let you print. You cannot refill these cartridges because they have an electronic sensor of some sort, and the Wal-Mart that I purchased it doesn't seem to carry the black ink cartridge anymore. The ink doesn't go far but what it does print is of very nice quality. If you don't mind being a slave to your ink this is a great printer.
Loved the CX4600 which only got so-so reviews in the national PC magazines. Upgraded to the CX7400 for a great price. It does it all as well as the 4600..EXCEPT.. it is the LOUDEST printer in the world when it comes to setting the paper into the track. Don't plan to do any late night printing if you share a dorm room.
I always wanted an Epson printer with the four ink cartridges. Now that I have one I will never buy another Epson product. The ink consumption for this printer is rediculous. I don't print very often but I am constantly ordering ink; it is like it just evaporates in a short amount of time. The other thing is when one cartdige goes empty nothing will print. This my first and last Epson printer.
