I highly recommended asking your vet about this food if your dog has any anxiety! I have fed my Shih Tzu Royal Canin since she was a puppy at the recommendation of my vet and she has been a healthy little girl ever since! She does have anxiety and my vet told me to give this a try and I have to say that I'm so glad I did! My personal opinion is that any of the Royal Canin varieties are the best you can get! My Chi mix is an extremely nervous little girl. She was constantly hiding at the slightest noise when the weather was changing. Penny would hide hours before a storm simply because she could since a upcoming storm. Traffic noise, fireworks, any loud noises would sent her into hiding. Penny's Veterinarian suggested Calm and it's has worked with great success. Penny actually stays out during stormy weather and other unsettling noises. We are very happy to have found Calm, thank you.
I was skeptical of how much this food would really make a difference... But I can say a month into feeding it to my high strung miniature pinscher that it really makes a difference and has helped take his edge off. Things that would normally stress him out (being in the elevator, see if big dogs, screaming children, being left alone) are just not as big of a deal to him anymore. He is generally more relaxed which I feel is helping his overall anxiety tremendously. His poos are also much healthier!!!
I have a young male pomsky with extreme anxiety (on Prozac) and this is the ONLY food that has made his poo solid! It is prescription food and a little pricey, but worth it to us. My only complaint is the size of the bag! 8 pound bag is as big as it comes!! I haven't been able to find it in a larger bag...please let me know if comes in a 20/30/40 pound bag. Thank you:)
Purchased Calm about 1 month ago. Spice 9 year old Basenji lost his owner tragically. Picked him up to come to my home. Severe separation anxiety he would not stay in home or outside with two labs. Now on Clomicalm, calming collar and recently added RC Calm. Huge difference with calm. He goes outside more easily, less combative, listens to sit, stay, more open to training. Long way to go but major change mentally. Thanks
I use this for my corgi & great pyrenees, both of whom are rather jumpy. It works great, & I really would like to see a canned version.
This food literally brought peace back into our house hold. Im a veterinary technician that has tried everything for my Chihuahuas behavior issues. It has been a daily struggle for 9 years, we were 1 step away from putting her on Prozac. After starting the Calm diet Mias personality has changed for the better. She's playing again, not urinating or defecating in the house or biting at people, and wants to be part of the family again. And she just seems generally happier which is the best part. I tried Royal Canin for my nervy little chihuahua, Pablo who struggled with new people and other dogs, and was generally very reactive outdoors. Since using the product he seems more calm and content, making new experience intriguing rather than scary. Following behaviouralist advice, I have combined this with plenty of individual walks to different places and meeting new people/dogs to help him come out of his shell at his own pace. My only niggle is that I wish I understood what all of the ingredients meant as I try to opt for natural dog foods where possible.
This product has worked the best and calmed my resuce pom down the most out of everything I have tried. Would def buy again.
